R50/53 OK, I'm an idiot, but how do you remove the cupolder?

I plan on using mine as an iPod mount while I'm using the AUX input, until a good ipod adapter comes out and I can hide it in the glove box.

Who cares if it blocks the passenger's view of the radio? No one better be caught reaching for those controls in my MINI! SMACK! Matter of fact, just sit there and do nothing but hold on. Are those shoes dirty? :-|

well...gotta weigh in...

we're keeping the cupholder (for now) because a) this is my wife's car and she likes that big cup o' coffee on the way to work and the other cupholders aren't big enough or in the right place for large cups and b) she said so .

it is kinda ugly, but only one small blemish on an otherwise great looking dash/interior.
