R50/53 Should I change my vanity plate?
Should I change my vanity plate?
So when I picked up El Kabong, he wasn't named yet. It took few days for the name to reveal itself. At the time of pick up, the dealer wanted my choices for the vanity plate, so I picked a few options and here's what I have.
I like this and wouldn't be upset if it was the plate I had for the life of the car.
It confuses alot of people, but anglophiles and MINI people get it.

Now that it's time to renew, I can change the plate just wondering if I should.
I have 2 ways to put El Kabong on the plate. We have a 7 letter limit in GA. I'm not sure if the state of GA will allow the 1st option since it has the word "bong" in it. I'm being serious
go figure.
Option 1

Option 2

Option 3

Or if anyone else has a good idea, I'll be thrilled to hear/see it.

I like #1. Surely they will allow it since it reads more like kabong than bong. Does GA not have a place online where you can go & see if tags are available & then reserve them? AL has this online so I figure y'all would too. We can go & check availability & for $5 reserve the tag for 30 days
It is at the AL Dept of Revenue Website so try checking the same but for GA of course

Mind The Gap' is not just an announcement that you'll hear the London Underground subway system when a train arrives at a station. Much more than just a warning about the 'gap' between a carriage and the platform, it's a phrase that has entered popular culture and become synonymous with London. People who have visited England's capital city say 'Mind the Gap' to each other - often accompanied by knowing glances and subtle nods - while the rest of the world wonders what they are on about.
"Mind the Gap, perhaps the most famous phrase associated with the London Underground, must surely have the creators of the system spinning in their graves. It's an acknowledgement that the thing doesn't quite work. That however fast and frequent the service, however comprehensive the network, the trains don't always fit the platforms.

Methinks that even a confused reference to a "Bong" or anything of that sort may get you pulled over and searched in some more conservative parts of the country....
....maybe that's me being paranoid - but your car has such a wonderful name and I just worry that some might misunderstand, that's all....

I really like option #3 but I think option #2 is probably best. I think #1 would be read as "like a bong", whatever that means.

OMG, I didn't even pick up on that. So how popular would I have been picking my son up at high school!
I can just see all the thumbsup as I drove through, and me nodding and thinking they liked my car!!
Annette
Ha! "Mind the Gap" in the US could also refer to Deal's Gap, at one end of The Dragon!
Annette, I like Option #1: LKABONG! It's cute! I didn't think of the "bong" reference, either....

Yep, I think I'll just keep the one I have. Just the possible bong reference is a bit too risky especially considering I work for Fulton County schools! Boy, one more reason I just love NAM, y'all saved me from certain ostracization in the PTA!!!

Yeah, I really like the one you have. Who cares if not everyone knows what it means. I'm sure not everyone would understand all of the --bong ones either.
Hehe...that's funny you work for the schools. You'd probably always have to explain why your plate had BONG in it. MYNDGAP also sounds like it could be a learning thing. Don't all kids have a mind gap until they become adults??? It always seems like there is something missing to me.

Yeah, don't thing the possible bong referance on the school grounds would have lasted too long.
Thanks for the explanation. I thought it had something to do with Deals Gap and since I have not been I was clueless (well for many reasons and many topics I'm clueless

I'm guessing the DMV will reject any of those.
I signed up for "BLDYHEL" - and the state turned it down. Ron from the Harry Potter movies said that all the time, and the first three were rated PG. WTF?
Your best bet would be to go with KABONG. They may think like "kabang!" KABONG, you know? Any others they will believe is a reference to ahem drug paraphanalia. And you know - "Won't somebody pleeeeease think about the children!"

You guys are funny! Great ideas.
motoron-help yourself, post a pic of what you get!
Ok, so the QuickDraw ones made me think of this one, which also applies to me when I'm behind the wheel!
