San Francisco was actually the launch city for the MINI back in 2002

I was there in early March and also saw many of them (But I think you still see more MINIs in Miami) everywhere. It is sooo cool to see them climbing up the steep streets of the city and negotiating the super narrow and steep downhill curves of world famous Lombard street .

I also think the MINI demographic is more favorable in the East and West coasts. I don't think you will see that many in the middle section of the country due to the scarcity of dealerships and the vast geographical distances.

I'm in San Francisco 3-4 times a year to visit my grandkids. I usually spot at least a dozen Minis a day. Noe Valley seems to have the highest concentration. The four year old and I have fun keeping a running total each day.

I commute Pleasanton to south (and I mean south!) San Jose (and back, usually ), but rare is the time that see more than 2 or 3 MINIs on my commute. And, for a city that actually has a MINI dealership, I see very few MINIs around Pleasanton.

My MINI is only 10 days old now, and I think I can count on my hands and feet the number of other MINIs I've seen. I think "The City" probably accounts for the great concentration of MINIs in the Bay Area. The further from S.F., probably the more sparse. But, what do I know? I'm having too much fun motoring (and waving when I can) to really keep track!

Just ordered my MCS CR/B at Mini of Scottsdale, Arizona's only dealership.

I've started a personal log to track how many MINIs I see per day. I drive A LOT and all over the Valley. I have an on-site computer services business.

Anyway, I usually see one or two a day. Over the past 3-4 days (since I started my MINI log...or should that be MINIlogue?) I've seen 2 each day. I'm keeping track of body color/roof and may add S or no. For the mostpart, I see mainly base MINIs.

That's the Phoenix report...

Comparing to SF south bay is more like a Mini desert, on a good day I can spot one or two Minis on my 12 mile commute (880x101 area). The first time I went to SF with my Mini I was stunned to see Minis everywhere. You may need to change the title

This weekend my friends and I drove up to the Bay Area from Fresno. Saturday we went up through Pleasanton to Berkeley, and then back south over the bridge through San Mateo to Palo Alto. Then Sunday we went up through the City all the way to Santa Rosa with a quick stop in Petaluma. We saw sooo many MINIs! Everytime we'd see one we'd all shout, "MINI!". Eventually my so-called friends started to sock me in the arm every time along with the shout. Needless to say, my arm is sore!!

I know that there are 4-5 that park within my block in the City. And driving in Noe Valley, they're like on every other block.

Here in SoCal we have 7 MINI dealerships within a 50-mile radius. I see at least 8-10 other MINIs each day, and there are about 5 in the immediate neighborhood!

Yeah, but searching for parking means you drove all over the city!

All those MINIs were within a 4 mile radius easily... we spotted plenty of parking that would've accomodated ours, if only we drove it...
