R50/53 Got a $729 quote from MINI dealer on dent :(
$729 for that? I'd just take it to a good ol' body shop, they probably would do it for $300.
At the very least, get some quotes from area repair places, $729 is a bit excessive. But then again, they might try to void your warranty or something

Yah ask around. Many areas have a person that travels around popping out dents. I can't think of the company with a nationwide network of folks.

yea i had a "Dent Wizard" guy look at it, its too deep for just a straight pop-out he said, plus its right there on that back curve which make it more annoying i guess for them to pop.

^^ it looks bordeline PDR-able... on corners like that the metal is so
stubborn that it would just take too much time to push it out and
no guarantee it will look like new.
the way the dent is shaped...it's going to be hard to push out.
so, bondo's + paint would be the way to go.

A word to the wise...
most facilities (especially Mini) contract out their body work. So, what do you get by going through them? NOTHING!
Go to very good repair shops, and you'll probably find you get better quality and lower prices, and less time as well (the shop won't have to add a day at each end to move the car to the place actually doing the repair...)
Only go to a dealer for warranty or recal work. You'll save time, and if you do your homework right, you'll make good relationships with a mechanic or body shop that can work on most or all of your cars....

I backed into my other car, and did more damage than that. There was paint cracking, and it was pinched in a few places. I had it fixed at a chevy body shop for 600. They also matched the paint. Please dont pay that. They just nickel and dimed you to DEATH! Unfortounatly, I dont think that it will be $300. The only down side is that the inside of my car reeked of paint for 3 weeks! lol

The car ultimately looked good enough, but only cuz they slather on so much freakin Armor All and cheap gunky wax to hide the imperfections they cause!

They neglected that car so long out in the sun and rain with no windshield that the inside and roof/flag were filthy.
Breathe, OK my little rant is over....for now:impatient

We had my wife's MCS repaired at the MINI-authorized bodyshop (rear quarter panel ding from a shopping trolley) and the quality of the repair was terrible....we're taking it back later this wek to have them re-do the whole thing.
Seriously... here's a Reality check...
The dent is on the rear quarter panel...
Had it been on a front fender, the part could be swapped, painted and installed. $300 ish if you know someone.
Since its the rear quarter, most surrounding items must be removed, rear bumper, fender trim, tail lamp, wheel wheel trim, wheel obviously, etc... The area has to be reshaped and pulled out. sanded down to the metal. The ENTIRE panel has to be painted and blended. primer/basecoat/2-3 clear coats This implies that the rest of the car has to be masked off to protect from overspray.... Id say $700 ish is reasonable for a quality job...
if you want just a paint job without dent repair, $300 is about right. If you have insurance, you should be more focused on color/paint matching and body work rather than the price...
Honestly. i wouldnt want a $300 quarter panel repair. You have a quality automobile... just have to start thinking quality... If anyone needs a referral in the NY tri-state area, let me know. My friend is fairly priced, gives you options and lets you know up front what's involved and does excellent body/paint work and has experience working on a variety of cars.
