Its called "anticipation". Things easily attained have little value. So when you have to wait another year, it will just appreciate it more

Oh dont worry. The majority of us here at NAM are the same way! (Well, I think.) Depending on your location, some cities have clubs that get together each month. Like I am a memeber of the Kansas City Miniacs. We get together each month, drive a little, eat dinner, and sometimes, there is an event! Look around, your city just might have one! If they dont, you can start one!

EDIT: I see that you have been here on NAM for quite some time. Maybe all that was old news? lol

The "western dragon" is a featured ride!!!

...and MINI takes the States, I'm doing 4-5 days. Throw in a local British car show, many like to have a few contemporary cars. And look for a Driving school track day. That's my Recipe.

ATL MINIs is an AWESOME group! I think some of them go to the Dragon at least once a month. Hook up with them and go back! No reason not to go back more often when you live so close, Bob!

5 Steps to new tires :P
1: Download Google Earth
2: Run Google Earth
3: Enter your location
4: Search surrounding areas for windy roads
5: Blister tires on found roads

It's not about driving...there are hundreds of great drives around Atlanta .... it is the PEOPLE and the cars ..... all getting together ....... seeing all the Minis etc.... getting the car ready...... seeing friends from all over.....making new ones ..... the Dragon is very cool as an event .... Oh, it's also a great road to drive.

I know what you mean. After arriving home from MOTD.. I wanted to get back into the MINI and go somewhere.

So... 12 days later, I drove up to MN to attend the NL2NB Rallye hosted by 'Sota MINIs (much to the chagrin of my wife). Tack on another 1000 miles and a group of new friends.. well, you get the picture. After returning home from MN, I reserved a cabin at Fontana for MOTD 2007.

I'm considering MTTS in AUG and there's a couple of Rallys in July...

I agree with you that the May Dragon is a feeling like no other, but we do events up there two or more times a year other than in May. We don’t have 3/400 MINIs but you may see up to 30/40 in a weekend. I have found these weekends with friends driving day time and kicking back at night together better than any May event could ever be.

There is no carnival atmosphere and no vendors, but it’s a personal party so to speak with people who come from thousands of miles just to be with their friends and spend time together without the circus being in town. Of course the local MINI people are always there along with the Atlanta MINIs group. So if you are looking for something to hold you over until next May try one of these get together weekends.
