My 25 year old daughter lives in Orlando and is interested in an MCSC ....how is the dealer in Orlando and is anyone in Orlando interested in pointing out the "cool stuff" about our cars?

Downtown is a MSRP dealer, I have a friend that went to Tampa for a better deal. I live exactly in between Palm Beach and Orlando, Palm Beach gave me the best deal. Bought in Palm Beach

I live in Orlando and have purchased 2 Minis at Downtown Mini. If you have any questions please ask away.
Here are a couple of quick details for you:

-I believe they charge an extra $1500 fee for their cars, but if you get a few accessories, that will eat that cost up quickly. They allow up to $1500 in accessories to offset the dealer add-on. (hope that makes sense) But to help out, if I did not want any aftermarket parts, I think they can wave most of the 1500 cost anyway.

-Please tell her to ask for Mike Priest. I have purchased both of my Minis from Mike, and will continue to do so for the coming years.

-Sean Costello is the Service Manager and is fantastic too. All the guys in service are great, she will enjoy the team there.

-Tell her to go to sunshineminis.org They community down here is very friendly and we are all willing to help.

Good luck. PM me if you have any more questions.

BTW, I have an 02 MCS, and my wife has an 06 MCSC, so if she has MCSC questions, fire away....

Ditto on Coobah's comments. I too have bought two MINIs from them. The $1500 fee can be used for wheels or other accessories. Once a year they have a rally with free t-shirts and lunch for their customers, lotta fun. Mike Priest is the goto guy, he owns several classic Minis as well as a MINI.

I believe Downtown Mini's stock offer these days is MSRP + $1000 worth of dealer installed options. (And I think a $299 for the standard shop fee that's on the purchase form).

Surely you can buy a MINI at one of those dealers for MSRP. I would not take well to being told I need to buy $1500 worth of opitions with a 50% markup in order to pay full price for my MINI.

Ordered my 2006 MCSC in Nov. 2005 from Downtown Mini, they waived the $1500 fee. I told them all I wanted was the illuminiated door sills and they said that would be fine. GO to http://www.sunshineminis.org/ I believe alot of people have had great luck at Jacksonville too.

$499 fee for documentation, etc at Braman Miami above MSRP. No "add-ons" or packages to buy.

We've also bought 2 minis from downtown, and they have the best service at any dealer we've been to. Highly recomended.

How much of a deal? How much off sticker? Off the lot or order?

I'm going in tomorrow to Downtown Mini to place an order. I've already talked price with the guy and it's MSRP plus a $299 dealer fee - and the usual taxes, tag fees, etc. No mention of "$1500 for accessories" or anything like that.

That is the exact quote they gave me. I think dealers have a turnip truck meter that they user on buyers to see how much they can get out of you. Just say NO to any dealer installed fluff.
