I used Tint King in Billerica after seeing them highly recommended in the BMW forums. They had great service, did a flawless job, and even gave me a loaner car since I work only five miles down the road. It was an old Acura Legend with dark tinted windows and "www.tint-king.com" printed on the trunk. Unfortunately nobody at work saw me in the parking lot.

How long does it take? Is it something you sit and wait for, or do you have to leave the car for a day or two?

I left my car for I think around two hours. Doesn't take long for the MINI!

I really want to get my windows tinted, but I want it really dark. Does anybody know what the limit is in KS?

Don't forget, the darker you go, the less you can see at night. You dont want to have to stick your head out the window just to see

He is right. Especially in the MINI with it having such flat glass. It makes the reflections much worse at night. At times I have to roll both windows down before backing up. But I still wouldnt trade my dark windows until I was told by an authority figure!

My friend just got 5% all around on his Mustang. Looks gooood. I'm going dark (probably 10-15%) when I get mine. I doubt the po-po will say anything. At least around here, they don't. My brother has 35%F, 25%R, his GF has I 15%F, 10%R, and like I said my friend has 5% all around with no issues.

In all fareness, my brothers tints' have been on ~2years now, his GF's around a year, and my friend 3 days.

I just had my wifes done 35 on the front and 5 on the back windows. It made it look SOOOO much better (black w/ white top). The only thing I hate about it is the guy left a 1/2 inch gap at the top of the windows. It's not noticable if they are up or down all the way, but in the middle and it looks like poo.

Has anyone else been told this is the way i HAS to be cause of the gaskets? I've considered having the front ones redone. It bugs me THAT much.

Flyer, that is not the way that it has to be done. My friend mike has self indexing windows on his vette just like the mini's do and he asked before he got his tinted if there would be a problem like that. The guy at the shop told him that a lot of shops cut corners that way and don't get it right on the edge because its a lot more work. He said that what they have to do is apply the exposed with tint then heat it and roll it down slightly in order to get the top and then squeegy it all smooth. I'm pretty sure that's about what he said, but he definitely said that a lot of shops don't do it, so you might want to check around for a better shop...

Just go to a Mini dealership and see if there are some Mini's sitting around that have their windows tinted already. Im sure if anything, they would have been done right (whoever Mini/BMW contracts out for tinting).
