R50/53 My Mini on TV!!
Hey all,
Thought you might get a kick out of this story. I flew to Salt Lake City last week to pick up my Mini. My brother is key grip on the television series "Touched By An Angel," and my sister is a grip/electrician. I drove to their location to see them after I picked up my car. I parked down the street from where they were shooting that day. The camera operator happens to have two Minis himself. He managed to frame in my Mini in a close-up which should appear in the second part of the last show of the series to be aired in April (I think.) Look for a dramatic scene outside a bombed-out looking school. My Mini should appear over the right shoulder of the male angel Andrew played by actor John Dye. Maybe I'll get paid royalties!

I agree, it's a pretty schlocky show. Somebody likes it, though, because it's in its ninth season. The only time I watch it is when my siblings' pets appear in an episode. My brother has an iguana who has been in three episodes, and my sister has a Papillon (a tiny dog) who showed up in one. They got paid (my brother was listed in the credits as "lizard wrangler"
--that's why i feel I should get paid for my Mini's star appearance!

It seems some of those sappy shows are actually the longest lasting. People go for that stuff, big time.

I live in Salt Lake, and I think that most of its viewers are Utahns, because it is kind of a religious show, and as you know, this state is a religious state, I am not of the "RULING" religion here though.
I will watch the show this time though so I can see your Mini become a STAR
I'm willing to bet that the "bombed out school" is in either Kearns or Magna, perhaps Rosepark.
You're right, it was in Magna. It was a great looking old school building, apparently vacant for a long time, with broken out windows (already broken, not done by the crew) and black stuff all over the front applied to look like it had burned.
I kind of figured. Kearns, Rosepark, and Magna are the "Ghettos" of Salt Lake.
Magna actually was pretty great at one time, it was an old mining town. Now it has gone to *****.
I guess I am in a minority, because I like that show. Although I rarely ever get to watch it, because there are other things on at the same time that I like better.
I'll have to watch that episode for sure!

Well?? Did anybody see it? The final episode was on TV last night, and there was my Mini, plain as day! It took me by surprise because it appeared as the opening credits were rolling by. (That meant I didn't have to watch the rest of it.) I'm still waiting for my royalty check.

Not that I watch the show - but I'll watch it just to see your MINI
Congrats all the same.
...I turned the channel right after 60 Minutes.
