Many years ago it was a very popular thing to replace the bumpers on you sports car with Nerf bars. These usually were two small pieces of vertical curved chrome tubing that attached to the frame and protected the car from those small parking mishaps. Does anyone known where I could get a set of these old styleNerf bars for my MINI?

Thanks,

Vincent

You could put those on, but we'd have to hunt you down and reposess your MINI!

The only place I've ever seen those is through JC Whitney catalog for the old VW Beetles. Before you put them on you might want to check to see if there are any Federal or State bumper regulations still in effect. Those things were essentially useless though. You might also look into whether the Air Bag's are somehow activated by the bumpers (does changing the bumper render the airbags inoperable?)

Got hit by a VW bug with nerf bars and it made a weird impression in my car similar to a sponge. But it did not dent the car.

Put pictures up with the new nerfs when you get 'em.

Being a two fingered typist you think I could get the topic right – Nerf Bars not Nerk Bars – Sorry

Good point about being illegal I don’t think you could get away with putting something on the front of your car that projects out.

Now that I thought about it a little I remember that they mounted to the frame where the bumper had been attached – A lot of the old style Porsches had them.
