R50/53 Where is the Dragon
Do a map search on mapquest or yahoo for Fontana Dam, NC. That's near the Dragon & where most of us are staying at Fontana Village Cabins. Or go to www.tailofthedragon.com they have some really nice area maps & maps of the actual Dragon
Woo-hoo Looks like I'm gonna go to the dragon in 2 months.
Awww. Looks like I've got to take the wife, 6 year old and 1 month old.
They wont all fit in the Mini.
Looks like were gonna take the Accord this trip.

There is a Dragon Photographer called Killboy. Him and his squad are practically always out there on weekends taking pics of almost every car going through.
I can't wait to see if he gets a few of me! I'll go through like ten times just to make sure!

Nice area of the State and there are a lot of great roads in the immediate area that are as much fun as the Dragon. At times they are more fun, due to the lack of traffic
Check out Hwy 28 from Hwy 19 (Alarka area) to Franklin and Hwy 107 & 281 to Lake Toxaway has been known to upset the apple cart - sort a speak -
And you can relive the moonshine days with a trip down Thunder Road, better known as Wayah Road from Franklin to Beechertown.
All in all a great place to live, even if only for a few months out of the year.
