I just want to air my intense anger and frustration!

I laboured all last night cleaning and washing my pride and joy, BR/B Cooper. This morning when I went down to my garage to admire my work, I discovered a large scratch on the front fender of my car (just rear of the headlight) . The scratch is very noticable because the white scratch mark contrasts with my British Racing Green metallic paint.

Agh! Agh! Agh!

Most hateful, hateful person who did this to my baby!!!!!

My day is ruined

Don't freak out man... It's a scratch! (A battle scar, if you will!)

Try having your MINI get slammed into by a crazy lady in a beat up Corolla... 3 weeks in the body shop... $8,000 in damage. That's something to freak out over!

Hang in there! (Get some touch up paint!)

T

MINIGreatness, I dread the day that happens to me...and it will come, I know it! I just can't coccoon my MINI as I'd like. It's a commuter and its got to take a few hits on occasion. (but NOT like yours Tony!...I hope! ) Sorry to hear of your loss.....of paint, that is.

MINIGreatness, I share your pain... I washed my MINI for the first time about 2 weeks after bringing her home and at that time found my first rock chip on the bonnet. I was heartbroken. Now after all the snow we've had here in VA (and MINI is my daily driver) I've finally had the chance to wash her again, and.... there are more. NOOOOO! Just can't stay perfect forever I guess. I'll be looking for some touchup paint myself soon.

I agree with Tony. Although, I'm completely **** about where I park and my MINI is (luckily) still scratch free after 4 months...I know the day will come. I'll ***** and moan, but at the end of the day it's a car. No fun keeping it safe in the driveway.

Thanks for all your support.

I am still depressed about the scratch, but your support and understanding have helped alot.

I think I'm going to head to the store today after work to buy my MINI a car cover to protect him from jerks like the person who scratched my car.

Thanks for listening!

Not sure what part of the country you're in, but there should be a local ChipsAway person that can repair that for you. ChipsAway uses a patented process to remove scratches and chips from your car, at your home, in under a couple hours. A 3-4" scratch would typically cost in the ballpark of $150 to fix. That's chump change compared to taking it to a body shop. And chances are you'll never be able to tell where the repair was made. They do *that* good of a job. I've seen it done a couple times before and have been BLOWN AWAY at the quality, and invisibility of the repair. So much so, that I'm considering buying a franchise license myself!!!!

If you are not sure if there is a local ChipsAway in your area, check out the main website, http://www.chipsaway.com/, and ask for a local referal.

Too bad about the scratch. I once had a door ruined 2 hours after I picked up a car, so I know how you feel.

These cars look pretty vulnerable, so I am going to hold on to that "Chipsaway" website. Never heard of them before.

that happened to me too, on my driver side door. my mini dealer attempted to fix it for me but they didnt really do much. id rather leave it there than pay $150 for the scratch.. most likely more cause its like at least 10"....
