Ahahhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!! Awesomeness!!!

That is a scream of sheer bliss, joy and HAPPINESS!!!!!

I JUST ORDERED MY MCS!! WAHOO!!!

OH MY GOD THE TEST DRIVE WAS FREAKIN AWESOME!!!

ok, ok I'll calm down for a minute. I was sold before I even got to the dealer but after the first trip through the gears...it was just awesome...dare I say...ORGASMIC!!!

Here's the specs
CR/B
LSD
Front/Rear Fogs
Chrome line int
Seven Piano Black
Anthracite Headliner
MFSW
Black leatherette

Kept it pretty basic, didn't want any of the fancy stuff. Plan on doing stripes and what not after I get it.

MA is gonna try to get a production num that goes in next week, so hopefully only six weeks!!

I CAN'T STOP SMILING AAHAHHAAH!!!!!

Orgasmic huh? Let's keep it PG now!

Very happy for ya, as I remember what it's like to order and drive my MCS for the first time....ahh...those were the days. Now comes the EXTREMELY difficult part of waiting. But don't worry there's a TON of support groups

Congrats again!

Wow - you hit the nail on the head for my reaction to the test drive. Had been seeing MINIs around for years and slowly came to realize that I just had to have one - but never even sat in one. Figured, "oh well, they will drive like a VW beetle". Man, was I wrong. I didn't really come to want the car for the drive - because I had no friends with MINIs and just didn't know. When I did the test drive, all I could say was "you gotta be kidding me... this thing is the most extreme handling and performance car I have ever been in !!" I think that every MA is instructed to tell you to take a cloverleaf intersection and gun it in the turn - totally opposite my instincts but I had to pull my jaw out of my lap after that.

However.... let me propose that what you describe will be nothing like when your car is delivered and you get to tool around over some favorite roads and really get to know the car. I still can't get the smile off my face - last night the weather was finally warm enough that I took the top down on the way home. WOW !!!! Now I know why I bought a cabrio - it was like being in a bobsled designed for the road.

Right at this moment, I am pausing in cleaning and detailing the car after weeks of snow and salt - finally getting a full Zaino coat on Maggie (or 3). My only advice to you (and the one mistake I made) would be to get the clear bra (3M if your dealer has it). I scoffed at that but in a month have picked up a half dozen rock chips on the bonnet and am just heartbroken. I will get them repaired and get a clear bra on as soon as possible - but obviously much better from the start.

Anyway, welcome to the community!! The MINI TV ads really got it wrong in that most of us don't suffer from "G-Face" but more from "Smiley Face"....

Happy Motoring !

Bill

Bill

I totally got the clear bra, forgot to mention that. With all the trucks without mudflaps and tropical bugs that eat through your paint when they go splat it was a no brainer. The one the dealer uses is called RoadBlock, MA advised it had a lifetime warranty, so we'll see how it works. I've read in a couple places some ferrari dealers and what not use it, so it can't be to bad if they're slapping it on them. I suspect it's just 3m film resold by a company that does the patterns.
