Oh no! (Out of ships...)

Well my MCS will be done today, March 10th, and I checked the schedule for this month on the boats:

SOUTHAMPTON 04/03/2006 CHARLESTON,SC 17/03/2006 LIBERTY EB609-LIB 13
SOUTHAMPTON 08/03/2006 CHARLESTON,SC 22/03/2006 BOHEME EA609-BOH 14
SOUTHAMPTON 10/03/2006 CHARLESTON,SC 25/03/2006 INTEGRITY EB610-ITG 15
SOUTHAMPTON 17/03/2006 CHARLESTON,SC 01/04/2006 FREEDOM EB611-FRE 15
SOUTHAMPTON 19/03/2006 CHARLESTON,SC 29/03/2006 TERRIER EX606-TER 10
SOUTHAMPTON 21/03/2006 CHARLESTON,SC 06/04/2006 UNDINE EA611-UND 16
SOUTHAMPTON 28/03/2006 CHARLESTON,SC 10/04/2006 PATRIOT EB612-PAT 13
SOUTHAMPTON 28/03/2006 CHARLESTON,SC 11/04/2006 MIGNON EA612-MIG 14
SOUTHAMPTON 01/04/2006 CHARLESTON,SC 15/04/2006 COURAGE EB613-COG 14
SOUTHAMPTON 06/04/2006 CHARLESTON,SC 20/04/2006 MANON EA613-MAN 14

My MINI probably won't arrive in Charleston until April 1st! And that's based on it gets on a ship so quickly! Then it still takes over a week to get to Orlando, Florida! (Because of all the stuff they have to do in between.)

My dealer said I'd get the car almost definately by the end of March, but I don't think they've seen this schedule. My MINI hits the dry patch for boats! The dealer said the first week of April at the absolute latest...well it's looking to be longer than that!

This is very depressing news... I was so excited that my MINI was going to be completing production tomorrow and well on it's way to America soon. The next boat won't leave until March 17th! Then it has to stop at New York...Boston...etc...

Sorry, I know, I'm being childish and impatient, but I was really looking foward to it sooner.

HUm, what you haven't factored-in is that once in a while a ship just disappears, poof, gone, nada. The MINI-triangle and all that . . . March is bad for that.

I would not count on the week delay from debarkation to arrival at your dealer. My MINI was offloaded in Charleston on Feb 28 and at my dealer in Palm Beach on Mar 1st!

Just do what I do... try not to think about it. My JCW is due to finish this weekend (3/12), and I'm not planning on tracking the boat -- it will just make the wait that much longer...

You would think they could start delivering them by air.

Where'd you find the list of ships? I'd like to see the ones headed for the Panama Canal.

as i found out in waiting for my mini there are actually three shipping lines that mini uses, the main one wilheim, nyk and k-line (i think). my mini ended up on an nyk boat and docked this morning.

the bummer about nyk and kline is neither have online cargo tracking, or at least none that allows you to track the mini. nor do their ships report on saliwx. so you may still make your late march date.

Don't sweat it. Mine disappeared and it got put on another carrier. It wound up in port a week ahead of the boat it was originally scheduled on.

Then again, it may have been swallowed by the MINI Bermuda Triangle...

Lucky ducks... there's a guy on MINI2 who ordered his MINI on February 21 and his MINI is already on a boat!!! I ordered mine on the 18 (3 days earlier), and it still isn't on a boat! It may not even be out of production! Everyone's been telling me it's in the "paint shop"...for a while now...

I ordered mine at close of business on the 22nd (so the order probably went on the 23rd), and I'm supposed to be on the boat leaving today (Saturday). Things rarely work in my favor, but I got lucky this time. Except that I'm probably jinxing myself here. The car will probably get bumped to the next ship, or it'll get lost at sea, or something...

You're kidding me? *slams head against desk*

...

*slams it again*

:impatient

I think I just missed the big shipments for the next week...it's only seven extra days...but that's a lost seven days of motoring!!! And what if I watch The Ring tape and only have seven days left to live? I may never have the chance to motor! LIFE IS TOO SHORT! GET THE STORK SOME PROTEIN SHAKES AND MAKE HIM FLY MY MINI HERE!

*slams head again*

Okay...I'm better now... *sigh*

How are some of you obtaining information about shipping schedules for England to the US? How do you know when your auto will be put on a ship?

Main Site : http://www.2wglobal.com/www/WEP/index.jsp

Auto Cargo Search : http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppTrac...trackType=Auto

Schedule : http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppSche...countryList.do

Keep in mind this is only for the Wallenius Wilhelmsen ships, but most of the MINIs are transported on those ships.

Also, the reason I may seem a little extra "on edge" is because this is going to be my first car too. So the waiting brings "double anxiousness".
