Hey!....My MINI arrives Friday in Denver and I will be picking it up on Tuesday. The wait is almost over... Ordered 4/15, PD 5/8, port arrival (CA) 5/28. 6 weeks is great! And....I still have my sanity.

How is everyone else doing?

Ordered 5/5, PD 5/16, on the boat now...to arrive Port Hueneme (CA) on 6/17. I'm in Sacramento.

Seems like you were about 2 weeks from the date of arriving on land...how about everyone else? (We're leaving on a trip 12 days after it docks and will be gone for 12 days..don't know if we'll get it before or after the trip!)

>>I received my order confirmation number from my broker (HM Brown) today with production in April and delivery in June so I thought I might as well start the new club off. Mine is to be an Electric Blue "S" with premium & Cold Weather packages plus 17" wheels and HK sound system. I can't wait for it! I owned a Spanish MINI in 1973 with a 1000cc engine and I loved it.

I got my beautiful Electric Blue S in May instead of the expected June...I have 950 Miles on it and am still loving it. Will post a pic soon.

No Kidding...I was beginning to wonder where everyone went.
Almost hesitant to post.

>>Don't forget to post pics!

Want to wait until some add-0ns are done, should take a couple of weeks. Right now it will just look plain MINI. But....yes, want to see all as they come in and I will get my nerve up to post too.

Don't think any of us know the whys as to length of time at VDC. There are a number of variables for the schedule at their end....no. of cars on ship, same truck transport, same dealer delivery, day of week porting. Think I was just in the right place at the right time. And now know more about this stuff than ever imagined I would even want to know.

Wow emagineer - I'm jealous!

I ordered my MC from Schomp on 4/15 as well. Great minds must think alike - hehe. My production date was 5/16, loaded on the Grand Race 5/26, scheduled to arrive in Cali on 6/17. With any luck, I'll have it by the July 4th weekend. Its odd that we ordered on the same day, from the same dealer (right?) yet I'll be getting mine about a month later. Maybe I should've gone to Schomp at lunch instead of waiting until after work!

Minidawn,

Someone else ordered the same as mine and got theirs even sooner. It definitely has to do with allocation...or I think it does. Hang in there, the trip across the pond was the hardest wait. Now I can hardly believe the day is here and need to focus on details rather than excess energy.. Where are you located?

I wouldn't think allocation would be a huge issue, assuming we both ordered from the same dealer on the same day. But who knows?!?! Maybe its the options I ordered?

I live in Denver - just east of downtown  And you?

Mine comes into KC on the 8th, picking up on the 13th. How is everyone configuring options?
1) daytime running lights activated?

2) Pathway Lighting - When active, the driving lights remain on for
selected time after the high beam switch is activated momentarily (high
beams flash) with ignition turned off. If active your choice 40 sec, 90 sec,
150 sec or 240 sec.

3) Central Locking - Would you want the doors to automatically lock at 10
mph?

4) Selective Central Unlocking - the default mode from the factory is you
press the unlock button on the remote and it will unlock the drivers door
only. Press again for the passenger door. Or if you prefer one press of
the key will unlock all doors.

Front license plate?

Hey,
I finally got my baby.
It was much faster than I expected, considering from the date at the port of New york as I noted above.
Friday I got an email from my dealer and said " YOUR MINI IS HERE ! "
Man, I placed my deposit/order on January 25th so my waiting time is 19 weeks !
Next day on Saturday I rushed into the dealer to adapt(pick up) my "son".
Now "he" is sleeping in my garage.
I traded in my pick-up truck to get my MCS. Every thing is so different from the world with full-size pick-up truck, you know it.
Last night I had my first night drive with "him" and found out that Xenon lamp was so cool !!!
After coming back from the night tour, I stop the engine and sat in my "son" to listen to my favorite music.
Oh man, that is my perfect private space !!

I'm very very very happy now.
I really appreciate all the MCO folkes for the communication so far and I'll keep MCO as my motoring base camp!

Thanks!!!
Luthier

ColoradoMark - I drove by Baron in KC on Sat and saw a new shipment of MINIs had just arrived. Your IB/W was probably one of the ones there. There were a number of BRG and IB awaiting thier final clean-up (8 new cars total). They all still had plastic and shipping stuff (protective cardboard on inside etc.) attached. Very exciting for you. Our CR/W MCS is scheduled to get on a boat this week. If we're lucky, we may be motoring and watching fireworks through the sunroof of our new baby on the 4th of July.

Didn't mean to spoil anything for you.

How can you stand the suspense knowing your car is here and you are there? I know, I'm not helping. I'm just jealous 'cause I'm stuck in the production twilight zone. ASK-MINI says my car's been in production for a week now.

Don' forget to get some good KC BBQ when you're in town. But don't eat in the new MINI!

Safe travels here and home.

Peace.

OK I guess I'm a member of the June club. Odered my MCS in mid May and low and behold its supposed to be her 6/16. It was unloaded from the Jingu Maru in Charleston on 6/6 w/ 129 others.

I feel joyous that the maddening torment of waiting is going to be over soon

Anyone else on the Jingu?

BTW here are the stats on my baby:

MCS - EB/W with stripes, panther black w/ anthacite, sport package w/ 17" wheels, MFSW w/ cruise, fog lights, zenons (sp?) and driving lamps, sport seats. Wanted to have the HK but ordered it two days too late after the order was already placed.

Congrats COmark! I just picked up my baby this morning at Baron MINI...
she's a chili red, white roof, white bonnet stripes/tartan red int.
I am in LOVE!
For all of you still awaiting your MINI's...it's worth the wait.
Driving (or, motoring to be more precise) in a MINI is PURE JOY!
And the looks you'll get are priceless.

Congratulation! Mark,
I guess you've almost got over the break-in miles...
I'm still gently rev my engine.
My current mileage is 550.
I need 700 miles more to rev to the limit.

Happy motornig!

Lutier

Thanks Luthier!
I added 650 miles to the car in one day, so still a few more days of taking it easy.
Today I added my lower aero grill. debadged the rear end, relocated the red S to the center under the license plate and removed the stupid air bag stickers off of the sun visors (Goof off worked great!).
It was a little scary having the front bumper cover off of a three day old car (my neighbors thought I was nuts).
I'll post some pics in the exterior mods section Monday or Tuesday.
