R50/53 Things You Didn't Know About Your MINI
front wheel is off, the passenger seat is re/declined(?) forward. the bike is a 55cm roadie but the mini still fit it without taking off the rear wheel which is awesome. Although if i wanted I cant fit a passenger by having the bike fit into the rear seat and cargo area when i remove both wheels. still better than my honda prelude (which is my commuter car)

Because you never know when you will need a second complete catback exhaust handy.
BTW: 2006 MCS, Boost Radio.
i think thats a setting on H/K if you have harman kardon you can set up the volume you want it to start at the instrucions on how to do that are on your H/K manual
Thanks for the motoring tip. I've been down to 9 before and now I know not to fudge it.

Help, first off my 2002 S has no hatch release ring under the rear seat. I am having a problem with my cooling fan running all the time until it drains the battery. As soon as I hook up jumper cables the fan starts running again. I opened the hatch and disconnected the battery , then I shut the hatch. now I can't acess the hatch to reconnect the battery. My manual says there is a ring under the rear seat to manualy open the hatch If there is an electrical failure. I have the back seat out and still no ring!! And does anyone have any idea why the fan would run all the time , Its not showing that it is running hot.

Fan Relay
Thanks fo the info on the fan! Is the faulty relay something I could replace myself or will it need to be replaced by the dealer? Do YOu know where the Relay is located? Thank-You for your help, Now I only need to figure out how to open the hatch to get to the battery.
Um...can't you flip the back seats down and crawl from the front seats to the back? It's not the most comfy way of doing it, but... That's what I had to do when my '04 battery died...
Rodger, my '02 also does not have the release under the rear seats. As uh oh indicated, just flip the seats down and crawl in there to hook the battery back up.
Until you get the cooling fan replaced, disconnect it at the larger plug just left of the bonnet release latch on the driver's end of the radiator. It is the wiring to the fan and will kill it without messing around with the battery. Unfortunately I am well aware of this issue as I am on my third cooling fan unit.
FYI, I've only found the cooling fan with housing as the part to buy and replace. I've been replacing them myself and it's about a 3 hour job if you already know what to do. First time took 8 hours.
If anyone with electronic knowledge ever figures out how to replace the electronic do-dads on the fan housing or in the fan iteself, I'd like to know so I can repair the two I have stored in the basement.
