I just got my 7 digit production # from my dealer, about how long does it take from getting a production # until actual delivery? Tracked it on miniusa...but no real info. up there yet.

Thanks

Hello Veritas
Congratulations on the production number. It took me about 2.5 months from production number to delivery. I am on the west coast and purchased a cooper. Part of the delay was due to the availability of the HK system

I got my prod number at the beginning of Dec for my MCS. I'll be picking it up in about a week.

So that's 12 weeks for me.

It took mine 12 weeks. I'm also on the west coast. I sat at the VPC for 7 days, which I hear is not unusual.

Good luck!

Bummer! My MCS was in and out of the VPC/VDC in Oxnard, CA in under 48 hours. 2/19 arrived 2/21 on truck to AZ.

I just ordered my cooper 2 weeks ago and have been trying to get a poper timeline- how long did you wait after ordering before getting the prod #? After reading some threads here I gathered that the order date may not be the same as the date you enter the dealer and place your order- is that true? my dealer keeps saying that the order was placed at that time... andf won't give me any more info. help anyone?

I got my production number two days after ordering, but the actual order did not get "entered" in England until two weeks after that. There are timing issues with allocations I believe.

When I orderd my MCS on 2/5, the dealer said 8 weeks. (Long Island, NY).

It depends where you live, and whether or not the dealer is within his allocation to add an order immediately or not.

Where do you live? Are you waiting for a special option?

If your order was really placed, then you should have been given a production number ! Otherwise, you're just on a waitlist.

Cool, miniusa just updated my Order details w/ an estimated Production date of 3/28!......if that holds up, would mid-May be a realistic estimate for delivery?

It took me about one month to get my car from the Production Date.

Veritas, get your boot into one of the clubs already! It's a really great source of info and support. You have a choice here, be opptimistic and join the Can't Wait for April club(if you're on the east coast, chances are good you could be one of the last to take delivery in April, on the west coast chances are a bit slimmer), or join the Can't Wait for May Club and be at the head of the pack! With the April club, you might be holding your breath a bit, but in the May club, you'll have to be the one who figures everything out first. Good luck

Wow, that would be sweet! My dealer said if everything goes perfect it can be 4 weeks, but averages ~6 weeks, and can be as much as 8-9 weeks......anything in May works for me!!

I think the biggest variable is probably the location of your dealer. Depending on where the dealer is your shipment time could take as long if not longer than your entire build process.

Plus if your car has to go through the Bayonne NJ(and possibly the Port Hueneme) VPC you have the potential for delays as well. Bayonne seems to be having a hard time moving cars through and that's without having to contend with the added challenge of the snow....

My build date was 1-10 (don't remember when I got my production number) the car was completed on 1-9, at the port in England and on the boat 1-10, arrived in NY 1-17 car accepted into Bayonne VPC and workorder printed between 1-24 and 1-27 (not sure exactly which day) and received by MINI of Sterling VA (just outside Washington DC) on 1-29.

If you're headed to the West Coast, I believe time in transit has been about a month. If your unlucky like MINI-Rolls was, figure an additional month before your car is even loaded on a ship. Plus the further you are from the port of disembarkation the longer it will take for your MINI to get from the VPC to the dealer as well.

I just got my production number , and the dealer now projects a 2.5 to 3 month wait (I was expecting a 4 month wait)!! Needless to say, I promptly quit the June club!

Sure seems like a lot of variables in the ordering and receiving of a Mini.
I was on the dealer's waitlist for two weeks, had the order placed on the 26th and now received my first e-mail from MINIUSA today. No production number yet, but I figure it's all a ploy to build the anticipation
Also saw my first Mini advertisement today....a nice size ad in the St. Paul Pioneer Press. My first thought was..Geez, don't tell everybody!!
I wonder if they'll be true to holding production in the states down to a relatively low number?

Jim

Uh-huh there's a lot of variability: I ordered my MC from MINI of Towson six weeks ago yesterday. The estimate at that time was 8-9 weeks to delivery. My MINI arrived in New York this past Wednesday and there's some hope that I'll get the car next week. I'll be surprised (and not a little pleased) if that happens. More likely the week after or even later -- depending on how many cars are ahead of it at the Vehicle Distribution Center and whether it sustained any damage on the trip. Fingers are crossed now

Frau Blüecar -- I LOVE the name!!!!

Put

the
candle

back!

I got my MCS from MINI of Towson! 11.5 weeks on the waiting list. Got my production number the other day, and "Max" is scheduled for production on April 4. Due home in mid to late May (I hope!).
