R50/53 Are you a MINIAC?

I have been a huge mini fan since day one. But with the failure of my lower control arm, I have become ever more of one. I found a very generous personwho is sending me their old control arms to help me out. Just knowing that there is a community like this that will help you out (polar opposite from the VW scene, which I am still involved in) is a very nice thing to come across. I am a tinkerer, I have been with all of my VW's, but I haven't even pushed the envelope with my car because this is the first car I have owned that had a warranty, but now with the failure of the Mini dealership and service department. I am now a full on Miniac. I have loved this car and will only fall more in love with every day that passes.

I can call myself a MINIac because beside the MINI, I own my second ZR1 and ZR1 still own the Speed record and endurance since 1991 for going 5000 miles at and average speed over 175 mph and go from 0-60 in less than 4.3 sec. and top speed in excess of 180 mph, the car won all the records right of the showroom floor and even if I own such a beast with only 22k miles on the clock, when asked which car do I prefer to drive, my answer is always without hesitation, the MINI, they are both parked for the winter and the only one I can't wait to take out is the MINI, I look at it every single day and I never found winter lasting this long, if I don't drive it within the next 30 days, I think I'll go nuts.

I am a MINIAC because I check NAM forums at least 3 times a day. It's like having a heroin addiction. Tap that vein, baby! Also, my web browser automatically opens up to motoringfile.com, so I can be informed of all things MINI, both at home and at work. I subscribe to the whiteroofradio podcast, and listen to it religiously. I have the one with Randy Webb burned to a CD, so I can hear it over and over again in my car. I've made a 150-mile trek to go to a Randy Webb pulley party, because I would trust nobody else on this planet to install a pulley on my MINI. This is my 3rd car, but the first car I've ever even considered modding to make it even more unique, and personalized. I am also a MINIAC because this car makes me just want to go driving, for driving's sake, (or should I say 'motoring for motoring's sake')?
Does that make me obsessed enough to be considered a MINIAC?

I am a big time MINIAC. I also think, breath and speak MINI all day long. Have owned 3 MINIs since 2002 and have been a member of NAM (Formerly minicooperonline.com) since July 2002. I have been also a long time member of MINI2.com and Sunshineminis.org.
I am one of the co-founders of our local club, Minis of Miami.

i don't consider myself a MINIAC per se, but a car enthusiast that
tries to be with my MINI and G35C as much as I can. even setup
my computer running wireless LAN in the garage this year and turned
a corner of the garage into my study so that I can be with them
even longer. i love my cars. i can spend hours just sitting next
to them.

Can't say that I'm a MINIac, either. There are too many very cool, fun, and very good cars out there, two of which I own, several more I would like to. That being said, the MINI (technically my wife's) with it's excellent blend of power, handling and fun looks has inspired me to start getting my two cars into order and get them up to their full potential of performance and looks.

I'm a MINIac because...
That's what my license plate says.
I'm co-organizing AMVIV
I've owned 6 classic Minis plus my new MINI
I bought a classic Mini in Cleveland and drove it back to Vegas
I have more MINI and Mini toys than anyone I know including some that you can't get in the US.
I co-founded and am now president of the Sin City MINI Club.
Should I keep going?

Although I do have my other passions in life, when it comes to cars I am definitely a MINIac. You could throw lots of nice cars at me, but I'll take a MINI every time, thank you. I have several MINI shrines around the house and at the office. Even though I'm not into modding (my carefully spec'ced, traditional-looking Cooper suits me just fine) I do tend to pour more than rational amounts of energy into keeping it sparkling clean. I hope to also own a 2009 50th anniversary MINI so, yeah, I'm pretty well hooked!!

I am a MINIac because...
...today was the day for me to pick up my new AB/W MCS and I was sitting in class counting down the seconds and minutes until 1:30 when I noticed a guy with dark hair wearing a bright blue shirt (like the electric blue colour). He was wearing a black watch and a black band on his other wrist and I couldn't help but think:
"he looks like a MINI."
such a random thought.
