Sorry if this has been asked (and I am sure it has but I could not find the answer): in the leather interior package what parts are leather - seat faces, seat backs, door panels? I suppose this could be important information in order to use a leather cleaner as opposed to a vinyl cleaner. Thanks for any help....

The armrest/door pulls on the doors are also leather (if the car has leather seats)

On my 05 S I apply Zymol to the leather part of the door handle pulls once every couple months.

Seats, steering wheel cover, shift and emer brake boots all get Zymol'd too. Leather is good. Jimbo

I'm pretty sure they're leather. I retrofitted heated leather seats into my friend's 04 MCS. She had the grey/black cloth seats originally. I noticed that the door pulls were cloth and clashed pretty badly, so I decided to get her the proper ones for a Christmas present. When I made contact with a dealer through roadfly.com, the internet parts manager asked me if I wanted leather or leatherette. I bought the leather ones. My post is still out there on the MINI Parts Counter Forum. The door pulls I got were definately leather. FYI, they are attached with 3 microscopic Torx screws and they are a ROYAL PITA to get to.

Maybe the real leather 02-04 door pulls are only available through the parts department.

Rawhyde, I looked on the Roadfly MINI Parts Counter Forum, but couldn't find your post. How much did the leather door pulls cost? Also, is it a good quality leather that is obviously nicer than leatherette?

I have the leather package as well. Would it "hurt" the vinyl to put a leather cleaner on it anyway? I use a good leather cleaner / food on it all...

Yep, you're right! It ain't on the roadfly site. Here is the link to my post:

http://forums1.roadfly.com/mini/foru...7230605-1.html

I added the door pulls when I had him on the phone. I also got some wiper blades and the elusive "MINI Wings Cable Key Chain"

My 05 has leather, Margaret's 04 had cloth, so I can't compare the leather to the leatherette. I can't swear that I've ever seen leatherette door pulls. The ones I got her were really nice. The material was low gloss and seemed very firm and smooth. I think the set of two was around $85. On the 04 and earlier, the left and right are the same. Like a dummy, I installed them in my driveway when it was 22 degrees outside. I shoulda pulled it into my shop and fired up the heater.

Rawhyde

PS If you need the part number, maybe I can get her husband to dig out the boxes and tell me the P/N.

Thanks, it seems as though leather door armrests might make a nice enhancement that you can appreciate every time you get in the car, yet affordable. I see that RealOEM has part numbers: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/partgrp.d...21&hg=51&fg=50 (the different diagrams are for different model years).

Nice try, but no to either. Both absorb the Zymol the same way my leather seats, steering wheel cover, and door pulls do (ever tried Zymol on leatherette, it doesn't absorb.)
