I was just wondering if any of you had taken your mini to get repainted to a different color or just have a rare color combo in the first place. If you can please post a pic of your mini, thanks.

Not to sound critical, and yes, I'm just a woman, ....
but are you totally insane asking this from us here ? ? ?

The people on this site have specifically ordered a color combo that they wanted. MINI prides itself in making the car and options totally yours "by choice". In 100,000 cars, only 5% have an exact duplicate twin.

So what you get is what you ordered!!! also MINI in the USA is in its 2nd year of production so the chances of someone buying a used car (at this point) and taking it to a paint shop and totally changing the colors to suit themselves - is slim to nothing.

If you were talking 1988 Ford Mustang or 1990 Toyota Celica, then you might get someone saying they bought the car and totaly repainted it a different color! and some paint shops will not repaint a car a color that is not the color number etched in the VIN number as the color of the car.

but here on a MINI website, you'll find that the most done to a new MINI might be the Union Jack painted on the roof or over the car (cool no decal) or something like that....

I own a 2002 MCS PS/ w. black & lapis interior which i received in July 2002
I bought it off the lot, cause I didn't want to wait 6 months at that time to get exactly what I wanted.
I'm probably going to make ist a Blk on Blk MCS w/ lapis int as soon as I stop spending money on bolt on mods....or when the weather here in NY gets a bit warmer

If I had a blk interior I would run out immediately and paint the car Austin healey Silver gray Blue...... in a heartbeat!!!. No questions asked...

I assure you there are all types here...and.... that's what makes this place...what it is....terrific!!!!

Go paint your MINI...it's yours...enjoy it !!!!!

I also got mine off the lot and it is a red and white "S" and I also didnt want to wait 6 months. I have come to like the car but I wish that the mini factory could either leave them unpainted or paint them a custom color, like this green...

There is truly no accounting for taste. I mean, I like green but . . .

If I had enough moola to do several different colors, now:

When are you having your MINI painted? I missed something somewhere. and what did they quote you as for as cost? Will they leave the roof white or are you changing it too?

I'm not actually painting it that color I was just bored and decided to mess around with a pic of my red and white "S". Although I would like to the only way I would do it is if my paint fades or something like that. :smile: :smile: :smile:

I wish MINI USA would offer the SAME color/interior co,bo's for the "S as they do for the "MC example Velvet Red..Pepper White/Redblack interior is great.Would have loved to order the Red/Black interior in my CR/Black top S" but no MINI offers any color you want as long as its "black"// lol didn't Henry ford offer that same combo a 100 years ago?...

I can appreciate someone who wouls want to take it that extra step and repaint this little car..... truth is.. in order to individualize it... you would probably need to apply a custom color to it.

I bought mine with the intentions of repainting it.

I have yet to do so, because I've been driving it often, too often to send it in for a week or two for a good repainting.

I'm just waiting to mix my "house of Kolor" candy fire Orange..... ZOOM!


Until then... I'm stuck with the factory options.... which allow us to blend in to each other..... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz


And remember.......

I'm going to get my roof done in a light silver color, with vinyl. Going for that old Mini S look, with the silver tops. I think it will look FANTASTIC with the DS exterior and aluminum wheels and silver cloth interior. Lots of blacks and silvers. Mnnnnn.....
