Alfa.. I LOVE the 156, beautiful sheet metal. The Opel Speedster is hot as well.
There are lots of brands in Europe most Americans never hear of... Skoda anyone? Vauxhall? Did you know Citroen is still making cars?
Variety is the spice of life!'
oh yes, on subject.... that Mitsu is hideous at best.

While the Mitsu "MINI" isn't as handsome, I'm excited about it. Imagine if everyone started driving more responsible vehicles. It reminds me of when I was first building my MINI on the website and one of the messages that popped up while you were waiting was something like, "Someday we'll look back on big vehicles and laugh."
"Hooray Responsibility!"
Cheers!

True dat on the Alfa comments. Rummor has it they will be back in the US in the next five years with their hatchback. It would be sold at Ferrari dealers. Based on what they look like and reveiws I have read I will be putting my name on the list, my Mini will be paid off by then so I could have two hatchbacks!

I'll believe it when I see it.
i dont think all small 2 door hatches are mini counterfeits.....It shares some styling cues....but they arent styling cues that were created by mini
it doesnt have any of the signature mini style cues such as round headlights, front grill, contrasting/floating roof or anything else.
The things it shares are contrasting arches (present on tons of cars from suzukis to SUVS), side turn signal on fender body panel (common on most euro cars, and now many other imports), black B-pillar(still has colored A-pillar though)

I tend to think that we will see more subcompacts from a variety of manufacturers - including hatchback varieties within a relatively short time there may be the Honda Fit, Toyota Yaris and Nissan Versa and Cube

As for the Mitsu... I can only find things on the proposed Colt - maybe the picture you found was an early concept? They don't really look at all alike, however, so it's a stretch at best.
Here's a couple of shots of the Colt:
