Showing my age: <for a white mini> How about Snowman from Smokey and the Bandit? Okay fine, how about Frosty the Snowman?

Last night woke up and talked myself out of a Mini. Told myself I was crazy, I have a perfectly reliable Honda Civic, why am I daydreaming about a Mini. Deleted bookmarks referring to Mini's. This morning, daydreaming again and asked myself when was the last time I got this excited about a car...EVER? Never.

On the website, the black Mini appears almost brownish on my screen, can someone tell me if it is indeed a jet-black? Is the white a bright "very white" white? Its looking off-white on my screen. Thank you to anyone who replies.

Back with MINI#1 I was in a similar situation with a Subaru Legacy - very solid, reliable car with no reason to get rid of it.... I don't even know what my life would be like if I hadn't gotten Molly. I have a whole lot of new friends, a new job, a new hobby - all as a direct result of owning a MINI! I say just go for it!

Jet Black is no longer available. Astro Black is a metallic black. While not brownish - it is more what I'd call charcoal.

Pepper white is a creamy off-white, not a pure snow-white.

I'm still looking for a name for my early christmas present as well (hopefully 2 weeks probably 3 till it arrives). I'm planning on waiting until i receive it to name it but it can't hurt to have a few ideas.

I love the name fluffy - my turtle is named fluffy and everyone gets a kick out of it...of course i can't use that for the mini but it'd be great for someone else.

every once in a while i dig through this site hoping something pops into my head. right now the leader is:
habdabs Noun. Terror, the frights, nerves. A variation on the more commonly used 'abdabs'. Also occasionally screaming habdabs.

good luck

Our Big Day!

So i get up way before my alarm clock goes off
I suddenly remember why, and get the kids out of bed,(rather rudely I might add ) rush them through breakfast, throw them on or at the bus, I'm not sure and hurry to get ready to go pick up our new baby. We arrived bright and early and had a great time going through all the info, buttons, what oil, the break-in period, yadda, yadda.
I had a blast driving home and spent the day (between pointless trips to get stuff we don't need ) putting all the goodies on and in the new MINI.
I've narrowed the name choice down, and will hopefully make a decision quickly.
Here's a quick pic from the dealership, I'll post more when I've added more of the stuff and when the weather clears enough to get decent pics.

For some reason, when i saw the picture of your mini, the name Sally popped in my head.

Then that stinking song followed... RIDE SALLY RIDE.

How about "Fletch"? Since you said your mother's maiden name was Fletcher.

So do any of these sound like a PW/B MCS to anyone, or any other suggestions???
Thanks,

It appears to me you came up with it already. Nothing! Let's take Nothing for a ride to Nowhere in particular sounds enchanting.

When I see it, it kinda reminds me of a Chess board. Thinking that most Chess boards are black and white, as well as the game peices, I have came up with, "Pawn"!

The name may have been found

Ok, so my big brother is here for our weekly Sunday dinner (I find it amusing that I still refer to him as my big brother, I mean I'm 40 ).
Anyway we're discussing, among other things, the name for the MINI. During the conversation my best childhood friend, who recently moved to Oregon, calls to say she's missing the Sunday dinner and ends up in the conversation via speakerphone. We start talking about shows we loved as kids and how wacky the Hanna-Barbera and Sid & Marty Kroft stuff was (I'm convinced HR Pufnstuf was all about halucinagenics). You know, The Banana Splits, The Groovy Ghoulies, some of the characters on the Flintstones, etc. I say that I want the car to be named after something funny, or fast or at least interesting and my son (who sees all these shows on Boomerang) says what about Quickdraw McGraw, which I loved, but then he remembers Quickdraw's alter ego El Kabong, who used to hit "El Bad Guy" with a giant guitar. We all just fell out. We of course ran immediately to the internet and looked it up and when I saw the picture it was a done deal!!! He's even pepper white with a black top (hat and cape, is that just perfect or what?)

So barring any protest from the family, El Kabong it is!
Annette
