mini disaster

last week bought 03 premium package loaded 26K miles from herb chamers mini in boston. they forgot to inspect and safety check so had to go back four times and then finally took her home, first night home it overheated cuz fan locked up cuz fuse blew, white smoke billowing out, two fire engines showed up, it got towed back to dealer they say they will give me 100K extended warranty, new tires and pay my first month car payment but now i think its a lemon. they claim that 03-early 05 all have this problem cuz only one fuse so they fixed mine and put in two fuses, they said it wasn't a recall but happened lots so mini corporate issued bulletin, called bmw mechanic/fanatic and he said not true, they are lying, don't know who to believe, should i demand money back and walk or take car back and hope for best??? they seem to be desperate to get me back in that car, is it a death trap? other option is they will get me a used o4 with about same miles but not as pimped out for same price or i could just forget it and get stripped cooper and forget the s but then i'll be sad and have no fun...really bummed, anyone got advice, has anyone dealt with herb chambers? should i keep it or dump it?
thanks for any advice, i am really desperate to figure this out!

if you dont feel comfortable with the car, any warranty tacked on to it wont give you that reassurance. My vote is to look for another car...

btw, you should ask if the extended 100k warranty is from MINI or a 3rd party... chances are.. its a 3rd party and there are things that are NOT COVERED... buyer beware
