EPA sticker under bonnet?

Just fishing here...
I will ship my MINI back to the states. I was told that my car must have a DOT sticker in the door (got it!) and an EPA sticker in the engine compartment--should say "catalyst" on it. I cannot find the EPA sticker. It is a CooperS, so the underbonnet area is cramped.
BUT, I've got to find it! My MINI's future depends upon it! Help.
If y'all could toss me a clue here, I'd be grateful. Maybe I'm just blind, or too drunk...

Mine is on the left (drivers) side parallel with the side of the car, just ahead of the front of the door.

Keep looking....no more beers !

Lift up the bonnet, and look on the driver's (left) side of the car, where the bonnet strut attaches to the body. It is outside the engine compartment, on a vertical surface, above the black plastic fender liner. You can't miss it! A black sticker with white lettering. Next to the fill cap for the windshield washer fluid.

Location is on the left (driver's) side. Not hard to find.

edit: I was stationed in Darmstadt for two years - know what that German beer will do.

bad news

I simply don't have one at that location. I looked there before, and double checked due to the photos. (which were very helpful by the way) You're right, it is very obvious--beer or not, but it's soooo good. maybe I can get a sticker from BMW.

thank you all for the help,
dan

American spec... yes. We bought it from BMW military sales. I am going to the salesman today--and BMW possibly--to see what can be done. I checked for a cat and it does have one. Just no sticker.

bummer,

Good luck! Shouldn't be a 'new question' for them.

So basically... 02-03 MCS did not get stickers, just cats. It wasn't until 04+ that they got stickers too. WTF. I am the proud owner, however, of a certification of EPA compliance from BMW. The shipping folks here said that little piece of paper will suffice.

Without the sticker, I suppose I could try to look cool, lie and say it's "Euro-spec". Hmm...

Tell that to your friends, but not to the customs people

Hope you and your MINI have a pleasant trip back home.

While shipping my car from Sicily, the shipping company told me that BMW Corp. is notorious for "forgetting" the EPA sticker on US spec cars destined for european delivery . Defenitely make several copies of the Certificate of Origin (which states US spec manufacture) and also see if the shipping company or dealer can get a quick shipment of the actual sticker to you. Sure it will all work out for you and you will get your car back to the States.

Cheers!
