If Hubie can get a 12.81, shouldn't they be able to get better than 12.5 with the lightweight kit?

Congrats guys, 12.5 is good!

The car can do way better than that, and it will in due time hopefully.

Reading Tim's blog, the car did 12.54 with some pops or something, so you know it can do it at least a second faster.

On the second run the engine mounting broke or something to that effect, making him change from 1st to 4th, then used NOS, and got 13.93, still very fast.

If I was them I would not change gear like that, I would change to 2nd and 3rd at about 4.5k rpm, then just effing kick that thing to red in 3rd, change at redline to 4th, NOS that sucker and let it burn. Man! I want to drive this car. I'll give you guys 300 bucks if you let me drag it at the next race.

300 bucks? WOO HOO!! Boys, we got ourselves another victim!!

Actually, I had to pay Hubie 350 to drive it...

But anyway, yea, the broke engine mount caused the shifter cables to tweak. That only left us with 1st and 4th. But we still won, thanks to the Doc and the button...

But 12.5 is slow, dudes. And hopefully Palmdale will give us the chance to do it. But thanks for all the support!

Found a bit more info on Fireball's blog

POMONA ENDS WITH A BANG!!

Well, maybe not the bang we had hoped for, but great just the same.

3 runs. First, Dr. Fuh slammed the M600 off the line with such force
that his pants nearly flew off!! But a few "getting used to shifts" led
hiim to ease up and save the power stroke for the next run. Resulting
in a whopping 21 seconds. Oops. Smart move actually...

...Because the second run was better, duh.

Run two took off like a blast from the past! 60 ft time was 1.70
seconds.!!!

But again, the little car that will, slipped. In fact it slipped twice
and threw a few pops as it tore up the asphalt. Maybe spark plugs,
maybe too much torque. But with all those boo boos... the M600
Flamethrower hit a 12.54 @ 115mph! A 12.54 WITH BOO BOOS!!!

After skirting back to the pit, we gathered to determine the cause of
the flaws. The Doc, The General, The Widow, The Hal 4.0, The
DynoMaster, and The Fireball.

But all was not lost, even though the track dudes from NHRA bumped us
from ET1 to ET2 because we missed a run. Seems many people missed runs
because of the disorganization. In fact people were pissed. So, the
circumstances were this.... We'd have to do our third run and be dialed
in at 14 seconds. That means that if we get better than a 14, we get
DISQUALIFIED!! WHAT!?? This shows you the mentality of the track guys.
We get a 12.54 and they bracket us at a 14. And this happened to
several others!

Anyway, the Doc's choice was to hit a 14 or higher and stay in for the
finals. (As long as he won. No problem.) Or...

GO FOR IT!!!!

SLAM! The foot hit the gas like a lurching cheetah after a 10 day fast!
And the doc shot off, no pants mind you, and SLAMMED it into second
gear so hard the at sheared the engine mount right off!! The torque was
massive! The now tweaked shifter cables were takin' the hit from the
motor's lurch forcing him to shift from 1st to 4th and hit the NOS! And
with all that nonsense and a broken mount, the Doc reeled in his
competition and WON by 3/10ths of a second!! Just under 14 at 13.93.
Disqualifying us in the throws of victory!! WHO CARES!!?? WE WON, WE
BECAME THE WORLD'S FASTEST AGAIN, and we created so much power the
little car snapped a wee bolt... Aahhh, ain't it a sad thing?

You know what I have to say about that? PALMDALE HERE WE COME!!!

Oh, and photos comin' soon....

Maybe this little item plus upgrading your motor mount bushings as well as all your suspension bushing will help get your car's full potential.

Waiting on seeing you break the 10s.

I think it's great that engine mountings on MINIs break, because they broke all the time on the Classics. . BMC , I mean, BMW got it right again!!!!!!!!!!!!

Time to upgrade some fasteners. Also can you/are you using a wheelie bar? Crank that thing tight to the ground & when the body tries to lift, it doesn't, Looks goofy as hell on a front wheel drive car, but it helps alot. Even taller tires on the back might help a little.(maybe) As you know a little is alot & 60ft times govern the rest of the run significantly. Give 'em hell!!
