Only have a one car garage and my wife usually leaves later than me in teh AM and also likes to keep the top down on her Jeep for weeks on end in the summer, so the MINI is outside. Also outside in the office parking lot all day.
Mine lives outside, usually parked off the street in a private drive. Starts up even on the coldest days ( -5F so far ) no problem. Gotta love the heated seats on days like that
During the winter I scrape the ice and snow off my pickup every morning at 2 AM to go into work so that the MINI can stay warm and cozy in the garage without a worry, unless a tree falls on the house or something.
Oh jeeze, ummmm, most people I figure. We have a nice town home, but no garage. I've never had a place with a garage. You might want to consider a car cover. I picked up one for half price from a NAM member who sadly had to sell their MINI. I will use the car cover this winter and to protect the artwork that I am having applied to the roof on Saturday 10/15.
Not only outside for over 3 years because I have no garage, but where I live it’s been parked on the drive during 4 major hurricanes in the past year. 3 that directly went through my area, the eye making land fall only 10/20 miles from my house.
And it always shines up very nice after the storms go away.
At home, my MINI loves the garage and in turn the garage loves all the extra space it gets to keep since the car is much smaller than my previous Jetta! At work, I park in a fairly enclosed parking garage, so its protected from the elements all around.
For people who park outside and live in a place that snows. Would it effect you when you open the door and the window slides down 1cm? I had a friend once complaining about parking his bmw outside and had this problem. His window was frozen with ice and the window couldn't slide down.
Thanks for all of the responses. I know it was a silly question but it's garaged at home and at work and I haven't parked a car outside since 1989.
