Next, take your MINI to SCCA autocross events and see what you can do.
It's also called Solo 2.
BMWCCA also has similar events.
Find a MINI club in your area and go to one of the meetings and ask them about driving schools and autocross events in your area.

Yep I drive my mini like a madman... and if I get an open road I take advantage. Kinda like a greyhound after a rabbit !
I think the key thing is be safe about it.
Here in England, I have beaten Boxters, countless Benz's, Jag's, Fords, Renaults, BMW 3 & 5 series, Lotus Esprit's... all kinds of stuff. Clear Roads and no speed limits on the M20 just 2 cars and open road.

I agree wholeheartedly about keeping racing on the racetrack, I try to be above taking adolescent challenges on the street. Hate to burst your bubble too, but in the grand scheme of all things automotive, the MINI is not very fast. If you're buying it as a dragster, you're buying the wrong car.

Posts relating to street racing, excessive speeding, or violations of other laws are prohibited. If you want to race, take it to a legal venue.
There are plenty of places on the web for people to go and pretend that thier actions don't put anyone at risk but themselves. This forum is no one of them!
