Anyone with the Elbow rest?

Ok, next on my list of accessories for my 06 MCS is the padded elbow rest.
I really like to have an armrest of some kind, but decided that the factory one was too long and would interfere with shifting and would just annoy me. I read some posts where people have ordered the smaller "elbow" rest and hope this will work for me. Here's my dilemma, I am only 5'4" and so I have to set the seat more forward in order to reach the pedals. I am wondering if the elbow rest, because it's so small, will then be useless to me, since it is stationary on the center console and doesn't move with the seat. Is there anyone out there who has this elbow rest and also has a "shorter" driver who can check this out for me?
I would love if someone would come out with one like I put on my PT that attaches to the driver's seat and can flip up out of the way when not in use, but until then this is my best bet.
Thanks all,
Annette
Here's the one I'm looking to buy.

Had one of these "Elbow Landing Pads" for about 6 months on my car. It was not quite high enough for my taste and did not get used too much. Then it started to squeak, so off it came. Oh well.....

thanks

"Not high enough" would probably be a good thing for me .
After some further searching I did find an armrest from minimania.com that attaches to the seat. But at $299.00 I'm not sure I want to make that commitment. I really do just want an elbow rest, not something long enough for my whole arm. I guess the good thing about the elbow one is that it isn't an invasive install so I can take it off with no harm done.
Here's the one from minimania.com, I guess I'll contact them to see what their return policy is if it does interfere with shifting, and whether it can be removed with no after effects.
Thanks again,
Annette

It's great, I love it.

I installed mine the day I picked up my MINI. Now 48,000 miles later in 2 years, it's still rock solid.

It's a cheap mod, very useful, lots of bang for the buck...but you're right, with the seat scooted forward it might be too far back. Let me check to see if I can still reach it with the seat scooted forward. I'm 5'10 and it works for me.

Hi I bought mine at TVA which is/was GotMini. I think it is great. No squeaks. It doesn't move with the seat, but you can wiggle it forward several inches, so I would think it would be forward enough even if your arms are length challenged. The construction is good and looks like it is stock and part of the car. The install of the Elbow Rest was a snap. I velcroed my garage door opener button to the inside of those brackets and that works out pretty nicely as the button now is basically invisible.

Actually, I just went out and adjusted the Elbow Rest as far forward as possible, and if you leave the emergency brake down flat, the tip of the E brake handle is exactly 6 inches in front of the front edge of the Elbow Rest. The Rest is a 7" long by 4 3/4" wide oval.

Keep in mind that mine is an '04 MC....not sure if the console that the brackets slide under is the same on an '06, but if you call TVA/GotMini, I would imagine they would know if it will fit
