2-On hi-speed sweepers, it's vastly superior because of it's wide tires and lower stance. Loads of grip at high speeds and mistakes will take you off road very quickly. At lower speeds, it grips equally well but can rotate at will due to the abundant WHP...which, without practice, can turn you around in a hurry. I'd be more comfortable in the Mini at the Dragon. But the Cherohala is a different story.
2.5-Acceleration...killer. Gas milage...18, not bad:smile:
I agree with some of 2. The Z06 is totally neutral in handling. When pushed to the limits, it will break away gracefully. What I found with the mini is that when it gets to the limits... its not very graceful and you don't have the ability to bring it back in line as easily.
On a cloverleaf I can push the Z to the very edge all the way round. It is a controlled drift that is easily maintained with the throttle. Even an abrupt move with not upset the car. The mini on the edge is not as controlled.
Letting off the throttle can make for a bad day... also is not as neutral as it tends to plow...
Within its limits, the mini is more fun to drive around town... not as bulky and has that go-kart feel... its not as serious a performer as the Z.

You obviously have more seat time in one of these bad boys to be drifting I need more hours to push it 10/10ths. I think the Mini sticks just as well but just can't accelerate out of the clover anywhere near the Z06.

Man i drove a regular vette around a short track recently and i thought i was impresses already. But then again before i went to that GM Auto show in Motion thingy, the fastet car ive driven was my MINI...i drove a GTO, CTS-V, and the new Vette all in one day. Talk about differences, wow. But lemme ask you this, how did you get a hold of one for a test drive?

P.S. i also hear the Dealer markups will put this car over $100,000

There are dealers taking orders at MSRP... the ones charging too much don't have much allocation so they feel they must gouge their few customers.

Hey, that's pretty sweet that there's a designer around here. I went to CCS in Detroit for a couple years, I'm sure you've heard of it

What were they thinking???! Single cam, pushrods, 2 valves per cylinder, Where is the complexity, the innovation, the maintenance expense? This thing will never sell, and the maintenance dept. will suck for business. And they are far away from bragging rights in the horsepower per cubic inch competition.

Oh -- You say it's fast and cheap? Nevermind.

Oh lord what Bush and the price of gas has done to me.

Don't get me wrong I like my Mini, but the supermodel/stripper was a heck of a lot of fun

I didn't want to get beat by Zak's twincharge Mini

There's a guy at work who's getting in line so he can sell his position...not a bad idea. I learned that, if I wanted to bad enough, I could order one through GM's PEP program, use up two weeks of my vacation and take it cross country for 7700 miles then it's mine after 3 months for around $47,000...hmmmm:smile: Need to sell the wife on this great investment idea...
