R50/53 Cold air temp!
Cold air temp!
hi,
I live in Montreal, and started to get cooler lately getting ready for winter (5-15C)
I can not beleive the power differance between 30C air temp and 10C air temp. It's completly unbalievable!!
when launching in first, when it was warmer, I could mash the throttle all the way to redline and my T1-R's woudn't even come close to breaking loose.
when it's 5-10C the car will peel from 3K to 6.5k and then PEEL AGAIN INTO SECOND!! up to about 60-70KMH.
I was considering getting a 15% pulley but I would not want more power then this in a FWD car!
This is just crazy... this means that the poor intercooler is pretty much alaways heat soaked in summer at higher temperatures.
I know the tires will grip less in cooler temperatures, but the car pulls ALOT more.
anybody else see this?

Yes I have noticed the beast awakening in the colder air. If you like that colder temp power You DO want the pulley...
You may put off the pulley, but when you finally do it you will wonder why you waited so long.

OK, so 10c is cold, right? and 30c is hot? I'm Ammurican, metic sux....
Yeah, I know 30 is in the 90's and 10 is probably 40's but temps given in F are easier on my old mind.....I still don't know how big a centimeter is though...and don't really care...See, I told you I was American (I suppose to not tick off the Canadians, I should say USA not American...but again, why not)!

In montreal, temperature ranges from 105F in summer to -40F in winter, so I will get to experiance the mini in all imaginable weather.

Nice temperature range!
I've been in Toronto in the winter and that's bad enough. Are a lot of the facilities in Montreal accessible below ground like Toronto? Anteken, -40C = -40F.
