3 weeks advance notice for a warranty service normal?

Just curious.
I have a couple of things that need to be looked at and called my local dealer to make a service appointment and only opening they have is in 3 weeks in mid to late October!
Is this normal with MIINI?
Cars I owned before I could make appointments for next day and within a week in worst cases.

It seems to be in this area. More calls sold then they can handle in service.

Unless its a serious problem they seem to tell you to take a #.

I guess I'll have to sit and wait now.

I'm on a two week wait. Luckily they have evening hours a couple nights a week which I was able to slide into.

VoiD,

I'm in the same predicament (same dealership too, I'll bet)... getting a bit nervous/frustrated about it though, because my car is now PAST due for the ~10,000 mile service. This morning it flashed up "-125 miles", and growing.

I noticed I've been driving a lot more conservatively since I crossed that threshold. My baby needs new oil and a tire rotation!

Fortunately I won't have to wait too much longer - made the appointment in early September, I take it in on Monday, October 3rd.

The only time I've seen that sort of wait was when there was that EPA software recall last fall. Otherwise, I can usually get in within a week.

Ha! We west coasters have it all over you! Sure, we pay $3K markup, but we only have to wait TWO weeks for a service appointment. And I thought getting a doctor appointment was bad...

I called today and was offered an appt Tuesday - and paid no mark up

There was quite a delay in appts 6 months approx or older ago in these parts, but it seems like the service depts are finally catching up to figuring on supporting the sales around here.
