58000 miles,new supercharger?
my car has 58000 miles and the dealer says i need a new s/c, has anyone else had this problem, plus drivers window doesn't go down, and the last thing is that my sunroof sounds as if it is going to break when i open and close it.....but good news the dealer has all the parts in stock, for the low, low price of $5850.....but since it is 8000 miles out of warrantee, they will do all the work for $3000. has anyone else come across these issues?
i just dont want to feelas if i dont trust the dealership,$3000 for a car that has no mods at all, completely stock, maticulously maintained, serviced at all the required mileage, i just dont get it.....am i being dumb to feel this way about having to spend that much an something as major as this at 58000 miles?
will not have access to computer for a few days, would like responses on this if this has been an issue for anyone else, look at my bio for way to contact me, please...........help, need some input, text, voicemail or other,!

superchargers need to be rebuilt every 100k miles.
If you have no mods, i would talk to the service manager and find out what exactly they seem to think is wrong with it... Especially if you have records of service etc. I dont see a failure of the SC at only 60% usage.

this is not normal. why did you take the car in for service? did you think the SC is bad? it's really not that hard to change out, you might want to try it yourself, or have another shop do it for much cheaper. i really can not see all the items needing fixed to be more than 800 to 1000.

Id def do some research of your own, maybe find a used or even new SC off eBay possibly, or from another source. Then Id price labor out at a couple different places-
Or if you have a couple buddies and you guys feel up for it, swap the SC yourselfs, its not an impossible job
Dealers make a truck load of money on service and parts-!
Let us know what you are gonna do!
Good Luck!

Five superchargers on eBay UK tonight, including one described "brand new".
As mentioned by others, curious to know why you need a new s/c.

Wow, for that intial quote, it would be cheaper to trade the car in for a newer model. Definitely get back to us if it's really a SC issue after you get that second opion. I drive the f@#$ out of cars and suck at taking care of them but never had that kind of problem with such low milage.

Emission Control System
I would check with the AZ State Air Resource Board as to the length of the Limited Warranty for the State of AZ...In Ca the Emission Warranty is for 7 years / 70,000 miles..and the supercharger is covered. I don't know if AZ follows the Federal 2 years/ 24,000 miles..or not, but it's worth a try......
