I just hit 3000 miles with my new MCS. Yesterday I noticed that somebody in a parking garage drove into my passerger side door 3 times. The dents are located just below the mirror and have no scratches. There is black scuffing (probably from the other car's bumper) which I hope can be buffed out. I am also hoping that the dents can be sucked back out with one of those suction thingies. Maybe I will try my toilet plunger...

Anybody have any recommendations for a fix? Can anybody recommend a body shop in the Sacramento/Roseville area? Anybody know who hit me so I can sue them?

 

first, don't do a toilet plunger, it won't work 99.99% of the time.

Unless you are a trained PDR technician, take it into a paintless dent
repair place. :smile: www.dentwizard.com should have a location near

also, your dealer should be able to help you get in touch with the
right people.

 

I second the motion for dentwizarrd. My beloved '05 Atro Black/White MC suffered damage from what I believe is a falling branch that put a nickel sized dent about 3/32" deep on the top of the fender about 6 inches behind the left headlight. A visit to dentwizard and you can't tell where the dent was. Well worth it.

This PDR technology sound very cool. The closest one to me is in Roseville, approx 30 minutes away (http://www.dentvanish.com). As far as I can tell, they are not affiliated with Dent Wizard but have many years experience doing the same thing. The nearest Dent Wizard location is 3 hours away (San Francisco). Has anyone had experience with Dent Vanish? Does anybody recommend them? I will go to San Francisco but would rather not (traffic sucks).

The dents happened while I was on business in Modesto. I think I was the only Mini in town... I got lots of looks from people as I was motoring around like they had never seen a Mini before.

Are you guys sure a toilet plunger won't work?

 

There is a great body shop in Auburn - let me know if you want details. They specialize in hi-end cars and they don't do any 'insurance' work - yet they stay fully booked....

If the place in Roseville is Gamboa's, I HIGHLY recommend it! They are the BEST body shop in the Sacramento area!

I'm going to school next week for PDR training. I tried it once on
my own and I couldn't stop myself. i got hooked... also going to
get a whole set of tools. (my reason for being on a budget
latetly for the tuition and all...)

Hope to be out fixing cars after I get some serious practice this
fall and through winter.. by Spring06 I will be hitting local small
used car dealerships on an intern-base to get more experience.
