I got my BlitzSafe adapter today via fedex and installed in about 20 minutes. Works with MFSW and sounds great. I am using an Archos 15MB player and have stored about 6 GB of music so far.

BTW, I ordered the product from RSpeed via the how-to link found on this site.

Happy Motoring!

FM modulators like a iRock--it uses a specific FM station that you set your radio to and you can listen to any device thats plugged into it through your cars speakers. They do suck thoug--battery life is terrible and I always got radio noise--I am ordering my blitzsafe today--should get it on Friday--Very excited to finally get to listen to my i-pod in the car

I'm still waiting/hoping that by the time I get my MINI in June that MINI will make good on their promise of the AUX input on the head unit. I've got a pre-order in for e.Digital's PC iPOD killer, the Odyssey 1000. It's 20GB, has a built in FM tuner, voice recording, longer battery life, and goes for only $350!!!

Being a PC owner I didn't want the hassle of dealing with what Apple sees fit to dole out for the Windows version. Looks like it's nothing but problems.

Do you happen to know if this AUX input is on the new HK system?

Some of the features on the e.digital are cool--however, USB 2.0? That SUX-max of 8 meg a sec? what if you only have usb 1 or usb 1 devices attached--your looking at less then that.

That speed is by far fast enough for me. I grew up making mix tapes in real time and only recently got a CD burner for my computer. Have we become THAT impatient that 8 megs/second is too long?

I'll sacrifice the slightly longer times for true PC compatibility and real-world pricing anytime.

Too each there own I guess!

MINI insists that all the '03s have the Aux-in on the back. Unfortunately they are not an easy to recognize RCA or Mini-Plug connector, but rather, they used some of the unused pins on the multi-pin connectors on the back. I haven't gotten my car yet, but if they haven't come out with an official adapter by the time I do, I'm going to put the thing on my workbench and determine which pins make up the Aux In. Then it'll be easy to make my own adapter.

(The rep at Ask-MINI said there would be a "nominal" charge for the part, but couldn't quote a number. If it is outlandish ($20+ installed) as I'm sure it will be, I'll probably build my own either way!)

I'll post instructions when I get it done.

Yep. When I use mine as a backup disk I love that Firewire speed!

Actually, because your iPod comes with 1394a (firewire 400) and not 1394b (firewire 800) and the max speed of USB 2.0 is 480 Mbps, the USB 2.0 players and the iPod are very similiar in connectivity speeds (400 Mbps vs 480 Mbps). When apple comes out with an iPod that runs on 1394b, you'll see speeds up to 800 Mbps, provided you have the hardware and the cables to do it. Sounds like 6 of one and half-dozen of the other, except one of them is $150 cheaper
