Rear fog light harness

Does anyone know when the fog light harness will be available for pre-October 2005 built cars? I thought it was to be available in July.

Maybe it will be, but I doubt there will be much interest in it. I heard parts and labor cost to be in the neighborhood of 600+. Supposedly 3+ hours just for the harness install.

Here's an idea: Sell your 05 for an 02, the new switch panel will cost you $60.00 and the software flash at your Mini dealer should be less than $100, problem solved cheap and you get to keep a whole lot of money from the sale of your 2005 car. It's a win, win situation

Yes. mine was valued at $668 -my dealer had quoted me $125, so they went ahead and did it for me at that price even after they discovered there was no wiring harness present in my early 05. (luck of the Irish, y'know  )

You could always do the "Give me a brake light" mod for less than $50. That's what I did. It doesn't give you a toggle or a fog but gives you a choice of either a brake light or a backup light in place of that black plastic filler. The web site is www.myminiparts.com

Exactly the way I went!

Looks good, plus as far as I am concerned it adds more safety than the fog light. I wouldn't even beging to guess how many time the 4th break light gets used every day. I have the rear fog on my Audi and I think I've used it about 6 times in the past 2 years. Half of them unintentionally.

How easy is it to install the break-light in a early build 05?

Took about 20 minutes in my convertible. But that's because of tight space. A coupe should be a snap.
