my rattles are dependent on road conditions. dealer hs fixed or way reduced most of them. for the most part I accept the fact that my 05 MCS's m-b build and run flats and stiff suspension contribute to the problem. I don't bug my dealer about the little ones, and the big ones are fixed (I always take the SA out when I drop the car off so he can hear the problem then, and not try to reproduce later).

I also have 7000 mechanically perfect miles under my belt (minus my window regulators) so I aint gonna ***** too much. A rattle won't strand me. Jimbo

A few rattles here and there.

But compared to my 1995 Probe GT, it's like a silk sheet! That thing was/is a symphony of percussion....

while I was at the dealer today for the emissions recall for my 03, they also replaced the rear hatch latch, actuator area, and rubber stoppers. I didn't think my rear hatch was rattling, but i guess it was cause when I was driving around spiritedly today, there were much less rattles.

when it's really hot, my dash starts rattling, right in the middle. if i turn the a/c to the windshield defroster and leave it on that way for a couple of minutes, the rattle stops. kind of a low-tech, temporary fix, but it works

Zero rattles on my '05 MCS with 3,200 troublefree miles. It helps that I have 16" rims with 195/55/R16 Dunlop runflats and no sunroof.

Our '02 MC CVT is surprinsingly solid as well at nearly 32K miles. Standard suspension, 15" non-runflat 195/55/R15 Continentals and again, no sunroof.

I have the rattle in the center of the dash... I don't even worry about it or notice it most of the time. I play the stereo pretty loud.

I think of the rattle as part of Jack's character...

Weather

OK, I know it's a weather thing too.
But I thought when it's colder things rattle more.
Today is about 83, almost no rattles comparted to when it was in the 90's last week. Odd.
Maybe I should kept this throug fall and part of winter before I make up my mind.

More thought

After looking at other cars and other forums, I just going to try to trade my Mini for a new one.
