If it is page 21, then my guess is there is 3+ days left, which then makes it a moot point. :smile:

 

The buy it price is $5500.00 but no one has jumped on it. I think it's a bogus ad because the pictures attached to the ad are pictures of Jerry Jerry Bradbury's car. He was trying to sell it several months ago on ebay and other websites for $26k and he lives in Norcal, not Vancouver.

I just saw it and I emailed the seller to see what the deal is. I will "buy it now if its legit....but I doubt it.

The response from the seller was that he didn't have the car for sale and he didn't know why E-Bay placed the car for sale using his account.

The car is an US model with US specs, comes with all the documents you need to register it and it has only 18000 miles on it. I recently moved here and was going to register it here but changed my mind since me and my wife bought a new house and we decide it to sacrifice the car. We didn't paid for Greece import taxes and if we keep the car like that we were going to lose it and its better to ship it where it belongs, that means US. The price is $5500 (this price includes the shipping and insurance) and if you agree with this price we can start to complete the transaction. Price is good cause if I pay taxes here and sell it here would get the same price if I sell it in US from here.

From the beginig you have to know that I will end this deal only trough Ebay so bought of us will be protected.
If you are interested in buying it I will apreciate a faster answer from your side.

That has scam written all over it.... If he says he's sending you $10k and for you to wire him the rest as cash back (minus cost of JCW) and says he'll compensate you some $$ for his troubles, tell him to pound sand. Freaking scammers.

 

I was waiting for him to say that in order to complete the deal, you need to wire him money to an account in Greece........

 

That scam has gone on and on and on on ebay. There are often several of these a week written about on mini2. Usually they say it belonged to their brother (substitute any relative) and they got killed in some tragic way and they just want to get rid of the car so here's a $30,000 car for $5,000.

 

I don't know why Ebay can't police this better. This is such an obvious scam

shipping is at least $1,500, so someone is selling a MINI for $3,500

and why doesn't he sell it in Europe? its a short ferry ride to Italy....

Just to add some info for everyone that deals with Ebay. Last year I advertised a Honda motorcycle on Ebay and recieved scam after scam from suppostedly interested buyers. They are scamming both ends of a deal, buying and selling. So beware. Also Ebay is not the only venue they go thru. Becareful.

These scams are so common and they all have the same theme. If you want to waste a few minutes and mess with these guys just tell them that your friend or relative is in the country they mention and would like to come and see the car. You will not get any correspondence from them after that.

 

Actually, I didn't send the seller an e-mail. The information was from the ebay link itself and the response was different from the letter you received.
