MINI of Universal City

Has anyone here ordered from Universal? I was thinking of getting an '05 from Long Beach MINI but they told me they weren't taking orders for '05s anymore. I called Universal and they said they could still order me an '05. But I think they charge a markup.
(I want electric blue )

thought I would mention

that Mini of Murray (yes, all the way in Salt Lake City) sells for msrp and what you save on the 'premium' markup will pay for California state taxes. I know because I know of about 6 people that have purchased coopers and brought them back from Oregon, Arizona, Texas, and Utah.

You will enjoy your car, that much I know for sure.

Good luck

you are correct, you are still able to order because they have not sold their alotment for the month. Major reason, the mark up. So you must pay or start liking another color. Mine was a cancelled order and I learned to like my new color right away.

My only problem with ordering it elsewhere is I'm afraid I'll get bad service at the local dealership since I didn't order it from there. Am I paranoid?

South Bay Mini in Torrance was great and all MSRP. I dunno how far they are for service from where you are in SoCal, but I have seen good things posted about their service as well

Another vote for South Bay mini. My wife and I picked up her MCSa today no fuss no muss. They gave MSRP and allowed us to order in any configuration we wanted. Sure would be worth a call or visit.

I wasn't too thrilled with the Salesman that I met when I went to find my Mini at Universal. He had that attitude of "buy the car or stop wasting my time." I was actually ready to buy, but took my business elsewhere.

Also, I don't want to confuse Universal City Mini, with their BMW dealership...from what I've experienced, it's a night and day difference.

If you haven't tried South Bay Mini yet, call them.

I wouldn't worry about it...bad service is available everywhere.

Thanks for the South Bay MINI tip! For some reason I didn't know they existed, even though they are right there on MINIUSA. (Doi.) Thanks again!

I test drove at Universal MINI and they had a horrible attitude. The guy was like a zombie!

I bought at Nick Alexandar and I did pay $1500 markup

I have taken my MINI several times to Universal MINI for service and they have been great. The person who said the difference is night and day is correct. And I have never felt like they gave me "bad" service because I didn't buy my car there.

Just to give another opinion here...I loved the people at MINI of Universal City. My salesman (I know he has a more fancy name) but anyway he was a MINI owner too, and YES I paid markup, oh well I have the MINI of my dreams!

And of course my MINI hasn't needed anything major done but so far happy with service there too, Lawrence is in charge of Service, he is busy but great.
