I was following a fellow JCW MCS home today from work and I could not help but notice how big those mufflers are from the rear. They really do stick out underneath the rear bumper!

Are they that big, or stick out that much from underneath the bumper? Or did he have a different system on his car?

 

Nope, that is just how they look.

 

Yep that's how they look. That's the only complaint I have about them on mine. My wife's S looks cleaner from the rear.

 

The Megan sticks out really far too.

 

I was behind a MCS JCW a couple of months ago and was surprised how large the mufflers are and posted a thread to that effect. There are some mufflers that are not as large as others, but aesthetically the stock system (except for the small tips) is better. I guess you could spray them black.

 

It got me thinking, so of course, I had to sit back and look at mine from the rear (hope no one joins this conversation late! ), the Milltek has smaller mufflers which hide beneath the bumper! At least from the angle I was looking at!

Just an observation, I would be curious to see a muffler in the flesh off the car to get the full dimension of it!

 

The first time I saw the JCW mufflers I thought they were MINI Beer kegs under the rear bumper cover! Then, I thought, I need a set of those to make my rear end look more manly.

 

I call them meh Gonads. Camel's gonads actually.

Yep. Those puppies are BIG. The wife calls them exactly that. Not only are the huge but they are Low Hanging.
