Chrome Grills

Has anyone replaced their chrome grills on their Cooper? If so, how much did it cost? I have a 2002 Cooper and the grills are a bit grungy

I put a Cooper grille on my S back in Feb of '03 when I got it, got it from the dealer for like $40, it had come off a car in which an Aero kit had been installed.

But, instead of replacing it, why not take some chrome polish to it? They shine right up with a bit of TLC.

Have you tried Nevr Dull ?

I was pretty surprised at what a 5 dollar can could do.

They are 3/4" side chrome side molding strips. Always be leary if it's to good to be true it is. If you blow up the picture it's easy to see.

I've always been afraid to use it, as MINI 'chrome' is really just chromed plastic. You use it without any problems?

I used it on all the chrome outside of the car. Granted I think some of it is plastichrome, it did show rust spots and general crap after the winter up here in Ohio. I don't think that Nevr Dull is all that potent, it seemed pretty mild. It's also wipe on then wipe off, and like I said it worked wonders. If it's chromed plastic then wouldn't it still have a metallic coating? Plastichrome still flakes like regular metal, I just don't get it all over the paint.

chrome??????

it really is supposed to b mild.
u should not use it on that type of chrome cause it tears the finish up and it will oxidize sooner should use wax instead.

My chrome grill looks fine from a polishing perspective, but little dings and pits will mean replacement for it and my front bumper strips one of these days. That's life.
