JD Power Long Term Reliability / 2002 models

Hello Guys & Gals:

What do you think about this? I have been waiting since January for my 2005 MCS that is in at the "Distribution Center" will show up in about 2 weeks. I am not thrilled after this news.

You are talking about an early model year on a new car design. Your 05 will not have those types of issues. A customer complaint can also be very minor and still count as a defect. These are complex cars and do have some issues, but they are unique and perform very well.
You can go for a small Japanese car and maybe get better reliability, but you will also be getting more of an appliance than a car.

Us early 2002 owners did all the Beta testing for MINI and you 2005 owners, so you can enjoy rock solid cars

I have a '02 MC CVT and ZERO problems with 31K miles on the clock. My 3 month old '05 MCS with 2,400 miles has been problem free and not once back at the dealer for anything.

It is good to be informed but don't read too much into these surveys.

Congrats and enjoy the car
