R50/53 How many own a pre-March 2002 build MINI cooper?
How many own a pre-March 2002 build MINI cooper?
How many NAM members own a pre-March 02 build MINI Cooper or Cooper S?
Mind you, I'm not looking for owners of classic Minis. I'm trying find owners of the first batch of MINIs. Thanks.

We have 2 members in our local club that owned MC's built during February 2002. Both of them experienced lots and lots of problems with thier cars. One of them traded it in last year for a pickup truck and the other was bought back by MINIUSA. The later now drives a new '05 MCS.
The 2 cars in question were delivered new by the same dealership on April 2002 in Miami.

NAM member DancooperS a (Also member of Minis of Miami) currently owns one of the very first MCS sold in Miami. I believe his build date is 3/2002. he currently has the vehicle up for sale:

My MC built in January of 2002.......
paid 24,000 for it with only heated seats
70,564 miles on it now-
1 replaced transmissions (replaced at 28K miles? thank you warranty!)
1 blown out clutch (my fault at 55,000 miles)
1 Spec II clutch and lightened flywheel installed (1800 bucks)
5K of body work paid out of pocket (the rest the insurance picked up (14K))
No fault codes, no major engine problems, oil changed regularly-by the dealership the first few times and then by me, two sets of wheels (holies and x-lites now)-5 sets of new tires, countless squeaks and electrical tape fixes........and a few mods I won't go into.
This car has not been pampered by any means. I have wrecked it twice (once hitting a small tree doing 14K worth of damage including having the entire tranny replaced, another sliding into a metal mile marker sign doing mostly cosmetic damage 5K including the aerokit)
This car has been through hell and I wring it out every day hitting at least 100mph at least once on my daily commute. The thing about MINI's is you have to drive them hard! Or else you have engine problems.
If you would like me to go into it more I can......but thats the short story......
