Has anyone else been accused of having MINI-Dar?

We're driving along the other day, and I shout and point "LIQUID YELLOW/WHITE ROOF, ONE O'CLOCK!" My wife accuses me of having MINI-Dar.

It happens every other week or so, which is about as often as I see another MINI in town.

I swear I can spot 'em a mile off. Too bad I haven't seen mine yet. . .

No MINI's in my town, but mine. My MINI-dar is on full intensity scanning the horizon for the second.

I have "Car-Dar", it's not limited to just MINI's. My brutally extensive automotive history helps this much

I have my MINI-dar cranked up to full power every day. So far I've been unlucky to only see new MINI's when I'm NOT in my MINI. I did meet an old mini on the street. A nice old school white one that was even a right hand drive. I have my eyes open for the other MINI's on the road though.

Funny...

I was driving to lunch today and I saw a silver cooper with a lady driving with a car load of kids. They all did the stare and then waived. Of course I did the same and it was hilarious! The kids were bouncing up & down in the back seat and pointing. It was really cool and true to the spirit of Mini owners. We like to smile. There was a cop behind me and when I looked in my mirror the cop had this "WTF" look on his face !

Mini-Dar is a standard driver option for all Mini owners.

Mini is too cool !

This was my 200th post YEAH !

My Mini-Dar is always on, seeking the horizon for a glimpse.
I saw an original Mini pickup (even right hand drive) going home tonight down the 405 freeway.

With all the snow here my mini dar gets messed up. Sometimes I see a hatchback in the distance who didnt take the snow off their roof, and Im like yes a MINI! I speed up to get next to them only to realize the white roof is only snow!!

Blip....Blip....Blip MINI-Dar is always on here in OZ. Still I've not seend too many. I saw one whip through an intersection whilst I was stopped at the lights. Suddenly the MINI-Dar lit up and I was in hot pursuit of my fellow trendsetter, when I caught up I just cruised behind her and tried to act cool (I'm sure that if it was a guy I would have been grinning and waving and thinking "hey look at us, we both have the coolest car in the world&quot we exchanged approving glances and after a few minutes she merged left and disapered. On another ocassion it wasn't my MINI-Dar that starting beeping wildly, but a very pretty young girl outside an Irish Pub here in Brisbane, my wife and I had just picked up our MCS that day and were out cruising. We stopped at some lights and the aforementioned young girl went bezerk. MINI..MINI..MINI she shouted with apparent glee, jumping up and down (I thought I was the only one who did that when I saw a MINI whilst I was out drinking) We gave her a toot - toot as we drove away felling pretty good about our choice of new car.

Gee I love my MINI  mmmmmm......MINI

My current MINIdar only has a limited range of a few blips every couple weeks but I'm sure the standard MINIdar that will come with my MINI will have a better range as more MINIs arrive on Hawaii

My Mini-dar blew up due to the silly amount of sightings. I have now fixed it to locate cars that are not Minis. (I see a lot, too many for my liking)

I agree with NYIllustrator, the snow on the roofs of many cars has been driving my MINI-dar crazy.

What really makes me happy is that when I'm driving with my wife her MINI-dar has been spotting MINI's quicker than mine.

She is as eager to get our MCS as I am.

In my family...it is now custom and standard practice to scream "MINIMINIMINIMINIMINIMINI!!" in a high pitched voice at the sight of any MINI. And now, I've got some of my friends' kids doing it... They say I'm a bad influence...lol.

My MINI-dar is always active. Unfortunately not all other MINI owners have the "dar". I ran out of gas (again, still with 20+ miles showing on the clock) and was on the side of the road, not far from my home last night. As I was calling into roadside assistance an IB/W Cooper comes along. I open my door, wave my hands franticly, all the while the car's hazzard lights are flashing. Does he stop? Of course not, doesn't even look my direction. Kid was maybe 18 yrs old. Obviously a gift and has no idea as to the community to which he now exists.

My MINI-dar needs a software upgrade. I was so busy motoring that I saw the other Cooper too late. I hope they were not trying to get my attentioni.

If you were on Tuckerman Lane this morning in Bethesda, MD around 9:50, I was not ignoring you.

My MINI-dar is always on. However, I've run into one or two MINI owners here in Jersey who are too "cool" to do the thumbs up thing. If you see a dark silver/black MCS on the NJ TPK, GSP or RTE 78, and the girl inside is honking and waving...loosen up a bit, it's just me saying hello

By the way. I'm not the only one with MINI-dar. The other week I rode up on a man driving a BMW M3 (the real thing!). Anyway, he was admiring my car, and I was admiring his. Now THAT was pretty sweet.

This may have been posted somewhere...forgive. But, I drive a jeep daily and
jeepers always wave or give a peace sign to other jeepers. Is the "thumbs up" the universal MINI sign?
