New MINI ad and Site

Sorry if this has already come up.
I thought I was hallucinating the other day when I saw a MINI ad on TV. It came on the Speed channel and looks like an ad for the "Hey Horn". I won't ruin the ad for anyone if they haven't seen it but it features a MCSc in blue/blk. At the end of the commercial it gives a website to order the product. You must check this out.

www.motormate.com

Enjoy.

Too good to be true

Thanks Wraith. I knew it was to good to be true that I would be the first to see this ad. Gabe on top of it as always. Lesson to myself....must visit motoringfile everyday.

MINI is the king of marketing. Just this weekend I was in a Scion dealer and they handed me a mag/brochure that looked suspiciously like a MINI publication down to a scion you can make from folding a piece of paper.

i disagree. i saw one of the new commercials last night. sure the mini is a fun car. but theses commercials are to cutsie. theses cars have some serious performance and are in my opinion the best car for the $$$ and then some. theses new commercials in my opinion are lowering the brands status. and will do some damage in the long run. no professional wants to be linked with a car portayed in that commercial. even the new beetle commercials were never that cutsie cutsie. that commercial last night did not want to make me buy a mini it made me want to sell mine.

I dunno, i think this kinda goes back to the "you must be gay or a woman to drive a mini" thread. Personally I think the more we can convince people that these cars are just cutsie little toys, the more fun it will be for us when some fool in a crazy custom mustang or vette ends up breathing MINI exhaust. But maybe thats just me. In the meantime, cute little MINI is getting me all kinds of oohs and aahs from the women on campus.

I never thought of it that way. I really think marketing this car brand has been about fun. These commericals are fun and even demonstrate the sporting potential at the same time. Let's face it these cars are great for people who love to drive and for people who think they are "cute". It makes them smile when they see it and usually makes them ask questions. Most people who come up to me ask me "how is it to drive?" so at least they seemed to be interested in that aspect of the vehicle. I've never been bothered that people think the car is cute, I'm glad they like it. Most of all I didn't buy it for them, I bought it for me and I know how much fun it is. Just my .02.

Unless you're just referring to twisties...I don't think you'd have too many chances to have a Vette breathing your exhaust Light to light, or open stretches, those things will make our MINIs look like Yugos Just too much damn low end and power to embarass them.

I embarassed a previous body style Vette just the other day. Only up to the speed limit, of course.

Well, that's more like it...I'll rephrase it...you wouldn't be able to do so with a Z06 for example

No, I am sure many cars including many Vettes can take mine, though not as many since I got a new pulley. The Vette driver and I had been pushing it for a while, but in short bursts in consideration of the traffic. He was pretty startled to step on it when the light changed and see me take him. I backed off in the vicinity of the speed limit, and he kept on going. That was the last I saw of him.

So if you're gay OR a woman, you drive a MINI? Does that mean gay women have to drive Hummers??

I'm going to stop now before the obvious jokes come out and get this thread locked. . .hhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. . . .

"Nice Booty"

These "infomercials" are hilarious.

My friend dropped off a DVD that he ordered for me of Counterfeit Mini Coopers - the longform commercial. That's good stuff too .

Tires

It's time for new tires, I can't make the indicator budge before the tires squeal and slide...

Here is where mine is mounted:

It's amazing that even stopped on a slightly banked road will easily show up on it. I can get it pretty far, but haven't had a chance to really see what I can get it to.
