Anyone want to identify and sound off on any of the dealer options at sale?

(eg. Lojack, yay or nay; Scotchguarding, protectants, etc; floor mats, etc.)

Thanks for your collective help.

I got stuck with perma-plate and mats (I would have got lo-jack too, but I didn't want it). I got the carpet mats, which are really nice and they velcro in place, which is really cool. I'm not really keen on the perma-plate, don't really need it her in socal

LoJack? Is that like KoJack? Maybe a novice question, but I actually don't know what it is...

It's some kind of security/tracking device if your car is stolen, I think? We don't have it hear in J-ville.

I got the floor mats and LoJack. Can't be too careful here in Boston...

My dealer didn't try to get me to take anything extra...but as long as it's come up, I will put in a plug for RUBBER floor mats. I ended up buying a set later and they run about $75 for the front and $30 for the back. You have to get the MINI mats (avail from MINI dealers) if you want a deep rubber mat that actually fits the footwell. The mats are made by WeatherTech/Cannon and as yet are not avail from a non-MINI aftermarket source. Anyway, in retrospect, if my dealer had offered them at purchase, and if they weren't charging a markup over normal parts prices, I'd have bought a set.

As I've posted elsewhere here, the MINI seems to pick up a lot of water and other crud every time you open the door in bad weather. IMHO a deep rubber "tray-type" mat is a must if you want to have a chance at preserving your carpets. So, the MINI ones are the ones to get.

I got the rubber floor mats. They seem more practical for the winter (especially the slushy, nasty winter we've been having this year in Boston). In the spring, I'll get the cloth ones.

Thanks for the thumbs up on the color combo, Chips -- I'm actually picking up Blanche tonight, so can't wait to see her in person!

MotorinGirl, I am terribly, terribly jealous. Mine arrives at the VPC on the 11th, then it's anyone's guessas to when I'll get to drive.

Anyone have any other options they want to mention? Please?

Not sure this will help you, Chips, but mine arrived at the VPC on December 18th. I think there was a major delay due to the holidays, though -- the Owner's Lounge gave me an estimated delivery date of 12/20!

Better late than never, right?
