I am having a noise while turning. Sounds like it is coming from the front end...It almost sounds like rubbing or slight grinding. This happens when the wheel is turned more than 45 degrees and the clutch is ingaged. It does not happen when rolling and the wheel is turned. I usually notice it when I turn out from a start. Now my first thought is that it is the factory LSD? I have checked for the wheels rubbing (since I have 18" and it is lowered). Anybody else have the factory LSD and hear this noise? Any help is geatly appreciated. I hope I don't have to raise the car back up put the stock runflats on and make the 1 hour journey to the dealer but I am fearfull that they will say that it is the lowering and tires when I know the tire are not rubbing.

 

lol, it's not the LSD. Sounds like it's just that, tire rubbing. ANd rubbing because: You have lowered the car too much, and the wheels too big. (18inch).

 

But I checked for rubbing... and it does not happen when it is rolling (and the clutch is in)????

Thanks for the help. I don't Like the noise but at least I know where it is coming from. I think I am going to verify with MINIUSA that it is normal. NOT to gripe but they(MINI) could not come up with a LSD that makes no noise . Is this normal for ALL LSDs even quaiffe?
