R50/53 Looking for GTI VR6 owner, now a MC owner
Somewhere in all of the forums is someone who used to own a GTI VR6. It had so many problems VW replaced it with a new car. If you are that person, please email me.
My daughter bought a used VR6 and has had nothing but trouble since. I need help!!
I guess anybody that has been successful with lemon laws and could offer advice would be appreciated!Thanks!
I don’t think I'm who you’re fishing for. I do however know your pain.
)
- Poor service. ( They sometimes break more then they fix! )
I think that’s it??
Its still a fun car. The handling is so so stock, but is easily fixed with some new suspension components.
If you want more info check http://www.vwvortex.com. I'm sure there are people there who have looked into returning the car. Its inevitable with the amount of problems people experience.

I didn't have a VRS but had the 2001 1.8T
Had to have the automatic transmission replaced at 6,500 miles.In reviewing chat boards, this is a very comon issue with people having a hard time getting it replaced at N/C. I didn't have any problems though getting it replaced under warranty thought
The only other problem I had was the rear view mirror controller went out, but didn't bother to get it fixed as I sold the Jetta preparation for the Mini next month.

It's just reall frustrating, this car has been nothing but trouble since she got it. Kind of like NY Illustrator's experience with his cooper! I just wish I could've talked her into the Cooper!

My good friend has a GTI VR6 drivers edition and he plans on keeping it but he loves to drive me mini when he has the chance.

As for GTI VR6, Im selling mine :smile: Haven't EVER had a problem with it, they are very reliable cars, Especially the MK3 chassis, the Mk4's earlier ones have ECU failures, 2nd gear grind issues (warranty takes care of both of those)
