That will be a nice MINI. Congratulations! The wait is not easy! Today is 9 weeks for me. My car is at the VPC according to the Owners Lounge, so my wait is almost over.

I'm not much of a mods kind of guy... I dunno though; the MCSa might change all that.

05MCSa,

CONGRATULATIONS! We'll have to meet up sometime, I'd love to check it out after you pick it up. First item on the list - join DCMM, and come to some events. I'd love to check out your car when it arrives... I haven't seen an MCSa up close yet, let alone driven one (I'm hoping to land on the only "loaner" MCSa vehicle at the dealer at some point, just to get experience with it).

jds,

That's the thing about the MINI... it can be a $17K car, or a $50K+ car... I should know! (for the record, no I didn't exceed $50K, but it IS possible)

Edge, we'll definitely meet up. Heck, don't wait for the loaner. Let's swap cars for a day or something. Just kidding of course; that'd be a huge downgrade for you, but sometime that we meet at a DCMM event or whatever, we'll go for a drive in each car.

But Jeff, my MA at MINI of Sterling, told me approximately how much your car was after options and installations, etc... And holy crap.

Oh, and I don't know if I told you guys, but my name is Jesse. You can call me by that to make things more personal.

Jesse,

I like the DCMM idea - we can take turns driving each other's cars, with the owner in the passenger seat. Sounds good to me... but let's wait until you have crossed the magical 1250 mile mark - I just did last Friday... I have to say, that 4500-6750 rpm range has more power than you expect!

And, for the record, on the cost of my MINI... I had been planning this purchase a LONG time... I saved up my money, and I paid cash (well, check) for ALL of my dealer-installed options... I only financed the factory price.

Sounds good, after break-in period.

Wow, you sure planned things well then. That's great! I'm excited for you.

mbcoops, thanks for the great pic of the anthracite headliner! I know I made the right choice on that, now.

Yeah, I need to figure out where they are... Any suggestions?

I'm in Arlington, right outside DC.

We used to live back there - in fact - hubby and I formed the DCMM club. We moved out to CA a little over a year ago.

Go to the DC METRO MINIS forum on here and post the question. You should get lots of responses. We lived in Leeburg, so I know LOTS of great roads out in Loudoun County.. And there are lots scattered throughout Maryland not too far away...

I used to live in Sterling, so I'm all about those back roads in that area.

GW Parkway/Old Dominion is a nice jaunt!

I live just about a 5 minute drive from Mt. Vernon. I find myself taking the GW Parkway a lot more often than fighting Rt. 1 traffic on the way home! A lot more pleasant and peaceful! And I can't wait until the cherry blossoms... uhh... blossom!

Feel free to join a small bunch of us at the unofficial 'clubhouse' in Herndon, the Tortilla Factory on Thursday! Details in the DCMM forum!

Oh yeah, and congrats!

-Paul!

Production number arrived!

Jeff from MINI of Sterling just emailed me my production number! YES!

And Paul, I'd love to join you guys there, but I work nights right now (such is the life of a restaurant manager!), so my social life is screwed for the time being. But I'm postable (can apply for other jobs within Marriott) come late May, so I'm planning on finding a job at Marriott Corporate or something, which would free up my nights and weekends - a definite plus.
