R50/53 Roof color help.
Just my humble opinion.... I think your MC40 looks great the way it is. While I think Chili Red/Black is generally a nice combo, I much prefer Chili Red/White any day of the week. It just works better visually. Besides you have a "Limited" edition MC40...respraying that roof black may hurt its future resale value.

Just thinking right now.
I was just wondering what it might look like. I figure this would be the safest way right now. The roof is the only thing on the car that is white, and the rest of the car has been modded pretty extensively and I saw a CR/B mini the other day and really liked the look. Call me crazy, actually that is better than what some people have called me.
Thanks MSFIT

Thanks!
That does help! I swear I tried for an hour and couldn't do it. Oh well I am a moron when it comes to these things they call computers
. Thanks again.

NO problem. Happy to help. The first thing you have to do when you want to do something like this is separate the area you're trying to modify by cutting it out and pasting it onto another layer. I used the magnetic lasso for this to be quick but the regular lasso (in the tool bar) is more precise if you magnify your work while you move the image around with the hand tool. Then you can do a lot of different thing to change the color, but avoid the paint bucket. Try instead adjusting the contrast. I just started over with a black to gray gradient. Then flatten the image and save a copy as a jpeg.
Again, this was a quickie .

Thanks Mark!

Although...... how about waiting for carbon fibre roof. ?

edited to add: Actually, there is one thing I would change, and thats the yellow stickers on your lights. THey just dont match anything else on the car. You can get clears ones ya know.
Hey are your lights painted like that or is that vinyl?
I really like CR with black roofs because that is what I have and I think it would be a great contrast for your mini as well. If you do a black roof you should replace the mirror caps too. You have already taken it way past a stock MC40 so I don't think that matters.
Just my two bits.

I'd say less is more. You're Monte Carlo scheme is pretty dynamic already. No need to clutter with more graphics. Where did you get the Craftsqurare? Looks like there's two Minis in the states with these now LOL:smile:

Yellow lights?
I know all of you are talking back and forth about the the roof. What I would like to know is how did you tint the headlights yellow? Did you use Laminx? I used Laminx for tinting my foglights, but they weren't yellow enough. Can you please inform me? Thank you!

The yellow lenses are polarizing (bad pun intended
) when it comes to opinions of others, some love them, some strongly dislike them.
Man, was that work!
