Roof color help.

Thinking of painting my roof black on my MCS. After trying unsuccessfully for over an hour now I was wondering if someone could help me photoshop my roof black. Anybody please!?

Just my humble opinion.... I think your MC40 looks great the way it is. While I think Chili Red/Black is generally a nice combo, I much prefer Chili Red/White any day of the week. It just works better visually. Besides you have a "Limited" edition MC40...respraying that roof black may hurt its future resale value.

Just thinking right now.

I was just wondering what it might look like. I figure this would be the safest way right now. The roof is the only thing on the car that is white, and the rest of the car has been modded pretty extensively and I saw a CR/B mini the other day and really liked the look. Call me crazy, actually that is better than what some people have called me.

got the rear wing, and the craftsquare mirrors (They are BEAUTIFUL!), I have been scouring the pics of your MINI looking at the splitter! (Funny you mention that) and contemplating the black roof, I think it will tie it all together.

NO problem. Happy to help. The first thing you have to do when you want to do something like this is separate the area you're trying to modify by cutting it out and pasting it onto another layer. I used the magnetic lasso for this to be quick but the regular lasso (in the tool bar) is more precise if you magnify your work while you move the image around with the hand tool. Then you can do a lot of different thing to change the color, but avoid the paint bucket. Try instead adjusting the contrast. I just started over with a black to gray gradient. Then flatten the image and save a copy as a jpeg.

Again, this was a quickie .

I know you did not ask for an opinion or poll, BUT, your car, as originally pictured, is one of the best looking on NAM.

I have always enjoyed seeing it.

my 2¢.

Considering some of the cars here on NAM I will take that as a very high compliment!

Hey are your lights painted like that or is that vinyl?

I really like CR with black roofs because that is what I have and I think it would be a great contrast for your mini as well. If you do a black roof you should replace the mirror caps too. You have already taken it way past a stock MC40 so I don't think that matters.
Just my two bits.

I'd say less is more. You're Monte Carlo scheme is pretty dynamic already. No need to clutter with more graphics. Where did you get the Craftsqurare? Looks like there's two Minis in the states with these now LOL:smile:

Yellow lights?

I know all of you are talking back and forth about the the roof. What I would like to know is how did you tint the headlights yellow? Did you use Laminx? I used Laminx for tinting my foglights, but they weren't yellow enough. Can you please inform me? Thank you!

Headlight protection film bought off of ebay. Here is a link to one of their auctions. You can get them with or without headlight washers.

I would love to have a carbon fiber roof do they make those??? The yellow lenses are polarizing (bad pun intended ) when it comes to opinions of others, some love them, some strongly dislike them.

If you decide to have a black roof will you change your mirror covers?

I have them on my MCSc and I get lots of compliments! Of course your MINI IS hands down one of my favorites ever!

I do like the checkered mirror covers. But I just bought a set of craftsquare carbon mirrors like the ones on MSFITOY. They are beautiful, if anybody is thinking about them I say go for it. Expensive, but well worth the price IMHO.

There is alway CF vinyl

Not!

Mayby you could look into a CF cover for the roof. Like the CF covers for the dash. It would be strickly be for looks.
