Tracking My MINI on The Atlantic on the Elektra

Well for all of you who are being currently shipped via the ELEKTRA, here is a link to the ship's current status. it displays all of the info including ship speed aka SOA. It is updated every six hours judging by the different plot points on the map.

I though we needed our own Thread.

zak! This is really cool that you can track the location of your MINI as it crosses the pond!

Kudos to you for figuring out how to do this and adding a whole new level of insanity to the waiting game for future MINI owners. You have broken new ground (or should I say water?) here and I know that this ship tracking website will be a future MINI owner's best friend in the future!

Looks like folks with MINI's on other transport vessels can easily find the location of their MINI at sea by entering the ship's name into the search box on this page:

http://www.sailwx.info/shiptrack/index.html#search

And thanks for helping me to learn a new nautical term! SOA means Speed Of Advance.

Well, it looks like the Elektra has slowed down a bit due to some heavy winds and seas in the area, but she is steaming along at 16 knots with her precious cargo intact!

Now that the elektra is through the storms, she is full speed ahead and has traveled 173 nautical miles in 6 hours! Yowza! Cool, now the waiting game should be quicker! C'mon people, we need to see where our MINI's are nearly 24/7 when shipping. Or am I just Paranoid?

Wow, the Elektra did pick up the pace between the last 2 updates!

How long does such a trip take? I am guessing that she is about 1/4 to 1/3 of the way across. . . .

Well they were late in updating, but I got up in the middle of the night and decided to check how the Elektra is doing on her voyage.

Looks like the storms have passed and she is picking up speed!

Mine's on Elektra, headed for Charleston, should be there on the 23rd or 24th.
Still the end of April before I get to go pick it up, though.

NAMeLess is a JB/B MC, Wanda's friendly cousin.
