Wow first time I heard something bad about their sales. I first ordered my LY/LY Cooper you saw at the Clutch instal from MCM but got sick of their service treatment.I went to Classic in Ohio and I know I am going to be better off, but I think i will do all of my service bulletins myself but if something like a windshield wel then PPG will take care of it.

TheWRKS - not to try to scare you, but it's entirely possible your MINI needed some "touch-up" repair work at the docks. If so, MCM is OBLIGATED to tell you if any damage over $500 was repaired. Grill them prior to signing the paperwork.

HTH,
Ryan

Thanks for the heart stopping moment I will go over "Merlin" with a fine tooth comb... before I sign anything. Thanks for the insight, I was going to ask about any damage that my of occurred during transit. (Re:O/L) Besides after reading posts on O/L and NAM some have been at the dock a lot longer than me.....just anxious to get my MINI..

In Production

Hi, all. I posted on another March Build forum, so I reckon I'll post here, too.

Looks like several are emphasizing performance over premium add-ons. I'm with you all!

MCS
Jet Black / White Roof / Stripes
LSD
Cloth
Sports with Web wheels
Rear Fog
HK Sound w/ Sirius

JCW Suspension

JCW Airbox? Mabey not. Thoughts?

Official name: Black Jack

First mod: Tinted windows

Club: Norcal MINIs

Controversy: Am I the only guy who doesn't like the Chrono Pack? Yes! It's true!

Anyhoo, looking forward to chatting with fellow March Builders!

Johnny

Hi All.

I first posted in the February build thread, but because of my lazyness I ordered the car too late to be built in time. So I now have a March build car on order.

The car was ordered on Jan 31st, built on March 2nd, and will be delivered to Otto's in West Chester Pa around March 17th.

I'm driving a 2003 Mini-Cooper now. The speed at which the cars are coming through now is amazing. The first and second Mini's took three months each from ordering to deliverly. The 2005 will be a month and a half.

I'm moving up to a Mini-Cooper S. Some of my Cooper friends are mad at me now for turning to the dark side by getting an S. It's all the same to me is how I see it. If I had $4,000 to put the John Cooper Works package on my Cooper (not S mind you) I would have done that instead.

Driving A Cooper for the last year and a half has let me know what I want and don't want in the way of options. Turns out I ordered a fairly basic Cooper S.

Chili Red body with Chili Red roof and mirrors.
Anthracite interior with anthracite headliner.
Tartan Red half leather/cloth seats.
Moon Roof.
Limited slip diffrential.
Front and rear fog lamps.

No packages, no stability control, no automatic air con (will miss this). I will adding a few Mini accessories and she's go to go.

Well first I have to ditch the runflat tyres. I'm still trying to decide if I want to go with Goodyear Eagle F1's or P-Zero Rosso's.

Good luck with your cars everyone!

In the paint shop!

Yep, Black Jack is almost finished being built. All part of the process. Each step completed brings us closer to MOTORING nirvana:smile: .

Any SF Bay Area folks around?

My car was done on March 3rd and is now on the Ship on it's way. "Ask Mini" who has told me to stop calling(ha ha) says it should be here by the 28th and I hope to pick it up a few days after that. I find it harder and harder to sleep at night and it keeps getting worse with each day. Here is the run down on my car yet to be named.

Where is your MINI headed to? My car completed on the 4th but ASK-MINI status has my car as waiting at the port for a boat. From the sound of your arrival date, it looks like yours is headed to Port Hueneme? That's where mine is headed. I want my car NOW!

It looks like the Elektra is on its way across the Atlantic Ocean! WW still says my MINI is scheduled to be on board, but doesn't yet show that it happened.
A stop in New York on the 20th, in Baltimore on the 21st, and Charleston on the 24th!
Now if only I could find a website or some pictures of the Vehicle Processing Center. So far, nothing.

I've been looking for that also. I'm on the ELEKTRA and so is Ryephile's mom's MCSc. I do have a whole PDF full of usefull info on the ELEKTRA. I'll have to look for it online again if you want to see it.

I've seen a picture of the Elektra, but an internal schematic would be interesting. That way I could track ingress and egress (ramps? elevators? a crane??) It appears that WW is going to stretch the ship this year; under 6000 vehicles isn't enough! (Does it carry a larger number of MINIs than Mercedes?)
Might have to check out weather in the North Atlantic.
